In It to E-Win it! A Single-Take Review of E-Win’s Latest Gaming Chair

IMG_0182.jpeg

A few weeks ago the great folks over at E-Win Racing reached out to us to see if we would be interested in checking out their super fancy gaming chairs. And of course our answer was, “HECK YES!” Soon a very large box was dropped off at my door. That box contained a Champion Series Ergonomic chair, and what you’re about to read is a look at my experience assembling it, and parking my keister in it for the past couple weeks!

Assembly

IMG_0172.jpeg

I’m including extensive photos in a slide show that will help you get an idea of how the chair shows up, the size of the box, and the steps it takes to assemble the chair. From the time I cut the box open, until I sat down in the chair was 36 minutes (and a few seconds). That includes the time I took to stop and take pictures, if I hadn’t the whole process would easily have been under 30 minutes, which is pretty fantastic. By my count there are a total of 8 bolts, and 2 screws that need to be manipulated in order to assemble the chair (PLUS they included extra parts in case you lose something). The seat back and the seat take four bolts that line up fairly easily, and then there are 2 plastic trim pieces that cover up where those bolts connect the two pieces, and the 2 screws hold those trim pieces in place. The remaining four bolts were already screwed into the bottom of the seat and are taken out and then screwed back in to attach the hydraulic assembly. Then it’s a matter of pushing in the five wheels into the steel base, and setting the whole thing down into place.

Features

This thing has all the bells and whistles! Just about every point of articulation you could want is here! The armrests articulate up/down, forward/backward, twist inward/outward, and slide laterally! If you can’t find a comfortable arrangement for them, you haven’t tried! The seat back also reclines to nearly fully reclined (range of motion is 85-155 degrees), and of course the entire seat tilts back as well (which is lockable). The Championship Series chair also comes with 2 pillows: a lumbar support pillow, and a neck support pillow.

The Verdict!

I’m going to take a few different viewpoints and share some thoughts, first as a tabletop gamer, and pc/console gamer, and lastly as an office/desk chair.

Tabletop Gaming—Personally, I don’t think tabletop gaming gives enough thought to the chairs we sit on. We’re perfectly fine plopping down at the table for a 2-3 hour D&D session, or a marathon game of Twilight Imperium, while sitting on a hard, wooden dining room chair, or slightly padded folding chair, while our legs go numb. There are a few manufacturers out there who are making strides, but we have a long way to go. That being said, this chair is great. I have two different tables I game at here at the homestead, and using a top-notch chair to sit at them makes a big difference. Being able to sit at an appropriate height, and keep the armrests unobtrusively at the ready is a whole new level of tabletop gaming. My back isn’t as achy from leaning over the table and being able to sit higher really helps with sight lines on the table. I’m a bit taller than average (6’3”) so the high back on the Championship Series adds support and comfort as well!

IMG_0168.jpeg

PC/Console Gaming—This is where the articulation of the armrests really comes into play. Being able to swivel, slide, and adjust them to my body shape, arm length, etc. really makes for a comfortable gaming experience. It’s like the chair isn’t there; my arms and hands don’t feel fatigue, and I feel like I play a bit more consistently because my hand position is more consistent and supported, which relaxes my hands, which cuts down on fatigue. This is obviously what this chair is primarily designed for, and it absolutely shines!

Office/Desk Chair—If you go to E-Win’s website, the listing for this chair includes the description “office chair,” so it is certainly considered a valid replacement for your current office chair. And let’s be honest, with the current lockdown situation there are a lot of us who are either a. not working, or b. working from home, and (like me) realizing how uncomfortable your home office chair actually is. I know I’ve spent more time in my office/studio space these past 3 months! Again this is where the Championship series really shows off. Typing with armrests that give support is a real game-changer and being able to adjust the recline angle of the chair has (and this is not hyperbole) changed my life. My last three office chairs were only able to recline as a whole unit, and it was impossible to find a comfortable angle to sit and work in for any length of time. This is a strong contender to replace your current office chair, believe me!

IMG_0179.jpeg

One last thing I’d like to talk about before giving my final verdict is the quality and aesthetics of the chair. E-Win touts a brand new PU Leather, and cold cured foam construction. It. Is. Sharp! It looks great, and the stitching, the construction, and all the touches are there—the chair just feels great! The hubless casters are quiet, and smooth (I’m mostly on carpet and I can move fairly well, especially compared to my former office chairs), and they look totally rad! I have noticed that it does overall sit a bit higher than I’m used to sitting in an office chair, but I’ve adjusted to it in the office and it works just fine. The locking mechanism is also pretty sweet. Not only will it lock so you stay upright, but you can lock the tilt mechanism at any point, that’s right, I can kick back, lock it into place and not have to fight to keep it at a comfortable angle, or tip forward unexpectedly. Seriously, this chair has it all!

IMG_0183.jpeg

Final Verdict

The E-Win Championship Series chair is terrific—let’s just get that out of the way. It is not a super cushy/overstuffed chair that will whisk you away on clouds. It’s a high-performance chair. When I sit down in it I know I’m about to get stuff done. Whether I’m going to whoop my kids at Madden, delve into a dungeon on the tabletop, or produce a new episode of Cryptic Podcast, things are happening when I hop in this seat! If you’re looking to make a seating upgrade, I highly recommend checking out E-Win and their Championship Series chairs.

E-Win Racing Hero gaming chair review: All-day support

The E-Win Racing hero gaming and office chair provides all the support your back and behind will ever need. Whether you spend eight hours a day gaming or eight hours a day working, you need a good place to sit. Despite several minor flaws, the E-Win is it.

Whether you spend your days glued to Call of Duty or mired in conference calls, one thing is critical: you have to take care of your back. It’s proven that sitting all day is detrimental to our health. If you have no choice, the very least you can do is ensure your chair doesn’t throw your back out of whack. The E-Win Racing Hero gaming and office chair provides the support you need and the luxury you desire. Is it the right chair for you?

Find out in Android Authority‘s E-Win Hero review.

About this E-Win Hero review: I spent a week evaluating the E-Win Racing Hero gaming and office chair. I used it during gameplay and also as my primary office chair. E-Win Racing provided the chair to Android Authority for review.

E-Win Hero review: Who is this chair for?

If you spend a lot of time sitting, no matter the reason, a good chair is vital. I’ve been saddled with some pretty miserable office chairs over the course of my career. Those that don’t properly support your back lead to pain, poor posture, and general misery. One of the first things I did when I started working from home was to invest in a solid chair. It makes a world of difference, trust me.

Want to prevent aches and pains? Want to improve your overall health, even if only a little bit? The E-Win Hero gaming chair can help.

Do you have to assemble the chair?

Yep, and it ain’t fun. The chair arrives in a large, heavy box (27.3kg). You’ll need a semi open space to manage the box and all the contents therein.

E-Win provided all the tools necessary for the job (basically just an allen wrench), but the directions included in the box were for a different chair. Granted, most of the basic steps were the same, but a few definitely were not. Due to the weight of the chair components, positioning them and holding them in place properly when aligning screws was a chore. I recommend you ask a friend to help, even if only with a couple of steps.

Beyond these issues, it’s a rather straightforward process to put the pieces together. It took about 20 minutes. A pair of gloves is included in the package to protect your hands when using the allen wrench. Put them on.

What is the E-Win Hero made of?

It’s made of good stuff. First, the chair has a steel frame in the chair bottom and back. This is what contributes the most to the weight. The metal frame is then covered in high-density, cold-cure memory foam. E-Win says its foam is engineered to be twice as heavy as regular foam. It’s elastic, yet durable. The foam is then covered in stain-resistant leather. E-Win says the leather can be cleaned repeatedly without damage. The leather is also resistant to abrasion and sun/ultraviolet damage.

The chassis under the chair itself is made of metal and plastic. A metal piston provides the suspension, and a frame for the five-pointed wheel array is polished aluminum. The wheels themselves are strong 2-inch casters.

E-Win rates the chair for 400lbs. Everything is covered by a two-year warranty except the frame, which is covered by a 10-year warranty.

What are the E-Win Hero’s features?

It’s a big chair and practically everything is adjustable. The seat measures 20.7-inch wide by 22.4-inch deep, while the back rest measures 36.6-inch tall by 22.4-inch wide. The backrest adjusts from an upright angle of 85 degrees down to a nearly-flat 155 degrees for cat naps. The lever for adjusting the seat angle is made of metal and the mechanism comes across as incredibly strong.

The armrests are 4 inches wide by 11 inches long. They adjust in eight directions: up and down ~3 inches; in and out ~1.5 inches; front to back ~2 inches; and rotate ~2 inches. The padding is plastic and feels durable. No word on how it will hold up to sweat over time, but it didn’t get slick despite some hot and humid days while I tested it.

You can raise and lower the chair by 4 inches. The E-Win Hero also leans back on a sturdy spring. Both of these are controlled by a bar below the seat. This is one aspect of the chair I didn’t like. The plastic bar comes across as a bit flimsy.

Last, there are two pillows, one for lumbar support and one for neck support. These are strapped to the chair via elastic bands.

How does it feel?

I’ve sat in dozens of office chairs over two decades as a journalist. The E-Win Racing Hero is the most comfortable and supportive such chair I’ve ever nestled into. After using it for a week as my main office chair, I can plainly say that my back feels better at the end of each day. My back isn’t as stiff or worn out as it was with my old chair. The support is quite something, but it’s not perfect.

After using it for a week as my office chair, I can plainly say my back feels better.

I’m a tall guy and I have a long torso. The 36-inch back is more than adequate to support me, but the neck pillow is a slight problem. Even at its highest-adjusted position, the pillow sits below my neck. After a couple of days I had to take it off the chair. If you want to nap, you can always keep it nearby.

The strong lumbar support is excellent, though keeping the lumbar pillow in place can also be a challenge. Some might desire more pliability to the pillow, or perhaps the ability to adjust its shape a bit, but it fit me just fine.

I haven’t previously sat in many gaming chairs, but I also used the chair for some time in front of my Xbox. Prior to using the E-Win Hero I always simply sat on my couch during gameplay. I was never truly comfortable gaming this way. The Hero managed to change that. I found I was more willing to spend time blasting my way through games than if I’d been drooped on the couch or hunched over on the floor.

A good chair makes all the difference, and the E-Win Hero is a good chair.

E-Win Hero review: Should you buy it?

Credit: Eric Zeman / Android Authority

No one wants to spend money on a chair. Whether you sit for eight hours a day gaming or eight hours a day working, there’s no question that you need to take care of yourself. You’re worth the investment in a good chair.

My younger self never cared to spend more than about $150 on an office chair. I now know that was a mistake. If you’re going to spend one-third of your day in a single seat, you may as well splurge and make that the best chair you can afford. Your back and neck will thank you.

The E-Win Racing Hero is expensive at $359. If that’s a bit too much, E-Win has a slew of options in the $199 to $299 price range that may suit you just fine.

EWin Knight Series Ergonomic Computer Gaming Office Chair – Hardware Review

EWinRacing’s latest entry in the racing back gaming chair, is an affordable and extremely comfortable chair in a market saturated with gaming-oriented furniture. Comfortable and as classy as you can get in the gaming world while still being purpose-built, the Knight is a durable chair for the every-person gamer and though the model that I picked out is black with yellow highlights and the four face buttons of a PlayStation controller embroidered on the seat back, is still subtle enough that it doesn’t stick out the way most “gaming” furniture design do; if you’d like to see more on it, head on over to EWin’s website, but in the meantime, here are some of my thoughts on the E-Win Knight Series gaming chair.

First and foremost, huge shout out to the folks over at EWinRacing. When I first received the chair, which shipped in near-record time (only a two-day wait, which is spectacular as that’s in the realm of Amazon Prime shipping) I was a bit skeptical as the instructions that were sent were actually for the EWin Calling Series chair. Fortunately, a quick tweet and I had a PDF of the instruction manual within an hour, though not that one would need it; this chair is not only comfortable, but easy to build on account of it shipping in about 4 pieces. Even though the full color instructions (something I rarely see these days) were incorrect, EWin’s extremely fast response to the plight was reassuring that they stand behind their product, something not many “gaming” or “racing-back” chair manufacturers do (based on personal experience with three separate “gaming” chairs).

Assembly took about 20 minutes and then I was up and running (well, sitting) and like any new piece of furniture it needs a break-in period. Fortunately, with everything going on and there being a Stay At Home order in my State, the Knight was about to be broken in in record time. Over the past three weeks I have spent anywhere from 14 to 18 hours a day in the chair and am thrilled to report that one of my biggest concerns was unfounded. That concern? Durability.

In every sub-$250 gaming-oriented chat that I have owned, even under light usage, has started to break down within mere weeks of ordering; from the cushions simply breaking down to lifts and backrest angles simply breaking, every single one, with the exception of an AmazonBasics “executive” chair (that cost just shy of $200), have been duds. Even the AmazonBasics chair, while still being comfortable, squeaks and groans like no other when my slightly-under-weight 13-year-old daughter sits in it. The EWinRacing Knight series though? I’ve put this chair through its paces and the only issue I have found with it is that it seems to want to always gradually rotate to the left. Annoying at times, but generally not something I can tell until I’ve been at the computer for 8+ hours. Not exactly end of the world and minimal given the fact that the seat cushion, headrest, and lower lumbar support are all in top-notch condition.

Now, I’m not exactly a large guy nor am I a small one, but when the good folks at EWinRacing reached out to me with the opportunity to review the Knight series chair I was a little confused as to why they’d want my height and weight; I’ve bought plenty of articles of furniture (that’s lasted quite some time) without needing to divulge that I’m not only short, but slightly on the husky side, so I was a bit taken aback. The reason, come to find out, is because EWinRacing has specific lines tailored towards all manner of sizes so no matter the height/weight of the person looking into a chair, they will have you covered. This was, to me, a fairly not-so-subtle wake-up call that this is a manufacturer who is so confident in their product (with good reason) and so concerned with the comfort of their customers, that they’ve tailored brands for everyone, even though not everyone is built the same way.

As I was putting the seat together I was a little concerned that it seemed large, and even sitting in it for the first time I felt like I had extra space at my hips that I just wasn’t used to. After a week of using the Knight, I plopped my chonky tail-end in my AmazonBasics chair and felt damn-near claustrophobic. The Knight’s wide seat, flaring armrests, and broader backrest are so damned comfortable that you don’t realize it until you sit in a chair that prescribes to the “One Size Fits All” mantra and oh boy is it noticeable. More noticeable? That the leatherette has yet to stretch around the seams and that all of the cushions are still in pristine shape. I still cannot get over how nice the Knight looks after nearly 300 hours of constant abuse. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that this chair was magicked into existence by the whimsical furniture gods, slapped with a sub-$250 price tag, and shipped out the door.

So, my final thoughts? In this day-and-age it is about making sure your money is well spent on durable products that are going to last while being faithfully supported by a company that truly values its customers. It is clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the folks over at EWinRacing fit the bill and deserve all the praise that one can bestow. They have taken a style of chair that has really taken off these past few years, made it comfortable, durable, and classy, while staying within the bounds of general affordability and in doing so bypasses nearly every pitfall the saturated gaming furniture market has.

What is even better? The awesome folks over at EWinRacing have provided us with a discount code just for you to take a little off the top… and by “little” I’m talking a whopping 20% off your order!

Simply use the code: chalgyr at checkout and watch that price drop!

9.5

Summary

So what are you waiting for!? Head on over to https://www.ewinracing.com and check out the Knight series and pick one up! You won’t regret it. Special thanks to EWinRacing as a whole for approaching us with this opportunity to review the Knight; it’s a fantastic chair that I foresee being in my office for many years to come.

DON’T SETTLE FOR SUBPAR SEATING

As someone who sits at an office desk all day long and sometimes night long, I know the importance of using a good chair. Sitting in subpar chairs can really tear your back up once you pull yourself away from your game or work. With that said, about two months ago, I started having some terrible problems with my back. I’m still not sure why there was a sudden onset of problems but suddenly – there it was — a horrible tightness in the middle of my back. It seemed as though no matter how I sat or moved around, I couldn’t get comfortable.

A few years ago, I had invested in an ergonomic chair that I thought might last me for many years to come. As it turns out, the chair was exacerbating the back problem I now have. I’m not sure that it was the cause, but it wasn’t helping. That’s when I started looking into a new office solution for my aching back. I decided that looking closely at the gaming chair options that are available would be a good plan since they are made for long-term use. That’s when I found the Flash XL Gaming Chair from EWIN and I fell in love.

EWIN Flash XL Series Ergonomic Gaming Chair REVIEW

DETAILS

The Flash XL Gaming Chair has some great features to it. For starters, it’s built on a durable steel frame and is supported by a 120MM Class-4 Gas Lift as well as a metal 5-star wheelbase. The cushioning is made from cold molding foam (high-density memory foam). With it being an ‘XL’ size chair, it can support up to 330 pounds from its users. When you sit in it you feel the difference, between the high-quality foam and lesser quality chair stuffing.

The Flash XL Gaming Chair has a lot of adjustments available that make it possible for you to have the just right feeling for your needs.

4D Adjustable Armrests

  • Surface covered with polyurethane for durability and comfort
  • Front/Back/Left/Right sliding functions
  • Clockwise/Counterclockwise rotations
  • Vertical Adjustments

Adjustable Height: Seat will raise and lower with the lever on the side.

Back Recliner: Chair will recline between 85-155 degrees.

Tilt & Lock Mechanism: The seat and back will tilt and lock into various positions. It’s installed with safety and a Class-4 gas lift piston.

USER EXPERIENCE

When I first received my chair I was bouncing off the wall to get it set up.  The chair arrived in a very large box with the pieces of the chair individually wrapped up and packaged carefully so as not to damage them. There were major pieces of the chair pre-assembled, but the back and seat needed to be attached and then mounted to the wheeled base. All in all, assembly only took about 30 minutes. You are provided all the necessary tools for assembly and it comes together quite easily. I was a little concerned when I found a tear in the side of the back, but as it turns out, that was an opening for a structural screw to go into from the side bracket.

Once the chair is assembled, it’s ready to use. There are no complicated instructions or special needs for the chair operation. You have the option to recline or move the armrests around as you like – they are fully articulating. The seat cushion is firm but very comfortable. The pillows are supportive and make a real difference if you are sitting for long periods of time. I have been very impressed by the wheels. I know that sounds a little odd given the fact that it’s a gaming chair, but usually, the first things that break on me are the wheels of a chair. They are large, wide and roll around effortlessly on the carpet.

EWIN Flash XL Series Ergonomic Gaming Chair REVIEW

I was met with a bit of a disappointment after getting my chair assembled due to one of the arms weld snapping off. The arm had basically fallen off. This was a big let down but as is the case with any product, you will find that not everything will be perfect. I reached out to EWIN support and they apologized for the unfortunate defect in the arm weld and offered to send out a brand new arm. They promptly sent a replacement and three days later, I had a new arm in-hand and my chair was as good as new.

The XL size chair is made for taller people and can hold more weight than the average gaming chair. The chair has a variety of adjustments that can suit even the pickiest person – like me. The included pillows lumbar and head you would think that they might be a gimmick but I assure you they are not. I use these pillows to adjust myself in so many ways.

EWIN Flash XL Series Ergonomic Gaming Chair REVIEW

CONCLUSION

I have had the opportunity to check out lots of cool chairs and gaming chairs over the years and the EWin Flash XL is just wonderful. I really enjoy the rocking ability that it has and have felt like I’ve been pretty much floating on clouds when using it. For anyone sitting long hours behind a desk no matter if you are gaming or doing office work, the EWin Flash XL will be a match made in heaven. Since I’ve had this chair, I’ve been able to sit comfortably for hours at a time and I’ve even noticed that my back problems are not as severe as there were before I started using this chair. It’s well-constructed, comfortable and it looks great!

EWIN FLASH XL SERIES GAMING CHAIR REVISITED

EWIN FLASH XL SERIES GAMING CHAIR Revisited

A GREAT PRODUCT RESCUED BY A GREAT WARRANTY EXPERIENCE

Take it from someone who spends most of their waking hours sitting at a desk — you don’t want low-quality seating. It becomes a pain in the — well, you know. For the past month, I have had to adapt (as I know most of us have) to working at home. While we have a workspace set up in one of our family room areas, I’ve needed to set up a secondary home office in our dining room so that I could work from home and keep that separate from our review-writing area. One of the first things I did was find a good chair. I didn’t want to use one of our hard-wood dining room chairs because that just wouldn’t do for 8-hour long jaunts at my desk. So, I pulled out an old favorite from my step-daughter’s room — the EWIN FLASH XL SERIES ERGONOMIC GAMING CHAIR.

We originally wrote the review on this chair back in 2018. I was impressed with it then and am even more excited about it now because it’s still holding up! After two years of solid use, the cushion and main mechanisms are doing well and even the wheels were still in good shape. I did, however, find that there was a crack in the metal 5-star base frame. I sat in the chair for a couple of days with the crack in it and thought it felt a little off. When I examined the chair thoroughly, I found the crack. I looked up the warranty information and found that the base has a two-year warranty on it. So, I sent an email to their claims department and after I sent them pictures of the damage, they sent the replacement part right out.

Chair Diagram from EWIN Racing Website
https://www.ewinracing.com/content/18-our-warranty

Now, if you’ve ever had to put together one of these gaming chairs, you know that the gas lift ends up being permanently attached to the base. There are videos online of people who use mallets and random techniques to force that section back through a base, but no matter what I tried, I couldn’t get it to budge. So, I reached back out to EWIN and they sent me a new gas lift and tray (the piece that attaches to the bottom of the seat) with a new updated multi-tilt mechanism that allows users to rock the chair forth and back more easily. so that I could just remove the entire base section from the rest of the chair and replace it with all-new pieces. They also sent along new hardware pieces so that I could reassemble the chair with no worries.

The EWIN FLASH XL SERIES ERGONOMIC GAMING CHAIR is still a remarkable chair and I can still recommend it. I’ve been using it again for the past month for 8+ hours a day and I don’t feel tired or sore after a day of work thanks to its support. But more than that, I recommend EWIN Racing as a company because they took care of the problem quickly and didn’t give me any runaround about using the warranty period.

Stuck at Home Review: EwinRacing Champion Series Gaming Chair

Like many of you, I am stuck at home, riding out this damned COVID-19 pandemic. To pass the time, I noticed I’ve been spending a lot more time on my rump in the home office, whether it be writing things for Droid Life or extended sessions of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Given that I’ve been sitting more, I want to make sure I have a comfortable chair, so it was quite serendipitous that EwinRacing, a maker of PC gaming chairs, emailed me to see if I would be interested in checking out one of their chairs for review. I accepted because who doesn’t want to be comfortable. The chair arrived a few days later. I’ve now had it set up in my office for a few days and am ready to share a few thoughts.

Shall we?

Assembly

I’ve assembled a similar gaming chair before, but thankfully, assembling this EwinRacing gaming chair was nothing like that one. There are only a few pieces to put together, all of which are assembled with the use of one of two hex pins. You can view the entire assembly instruction list here (photo from Monitornerds), but I’d say it took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. Do note the red directional arrows on the instructions, though. I began reading left to right, top to bottom like you’d read a book and was very confused at first. Thankfully my fiancée caught me and corrected me that I need to follow the arrows. Bless her heart.

Once your chair is assembled, with all of its screws tightened, you’re ready to sit and relax.

Features

Can chairs have features? Well of course they can and the Champion Series is no different. This chair features a stain-resistant PU (polyurethane) leather over a  high-density foam cushion. According to the product’s listing, the foam is “engineered to be 2x heavier than regular foam per cubit foot, inching it near the realm of memory foam.” Obviously I’ll chat comfort in just a bit.

For adjusting the chair, there is a ridiculous amount of knobs, levers, and all that jazz. For specifics, there’s height adjustment, tilt adjustment, sideways and height adjustment for the armrests, and backrest adjustment. What I wasn’t sure of at first, but am now a major fan of, are the pillows the chair comes with. And since I’m talking about the pillows now, let’s get to the comfort section.

For a full look at “features,” check out the product listing here.

Mmm, new chair smell!

Comfort

This chair is comfy! The last gaming chair I tried, I hoped it might get softer or more comfy after I broke it in for a week or so, but that didn’t really happen. With the EwinRacing gaming chair, it was comfortable as soon as I sat in it the first time.

It is a lot different from the chair I am coming from, a high backrest IKEA office chair, but once I found out the level of tilt I liked, my body just sort of melts right into it. And this is where the pillows come in. My past chairs don’t have cute little pillows to support my lower back and neck, so the addition of these pillows has been a major bonus. If you don’t want the pillows, simply unclip them.

As someone with terrible sitting posture (I look more like a pretzel than a human when sitting), which has been confirmed by my primary care physician, acupuncturist, massage therapist and chiropractor, I honestly feel much more comfortable and less achey after extended periods of sitting. And with the pandemic and state-wide lockdown in full effect, I foresee a lot more sitting in my future.

Durability

I’ve only been using the chair for a few days, so I can’t give you much details in terms of durability, but I have faith that this chair can serve me for some time. The chair feels very durable and heavy, and according to the EwinRacing’s website, the chair can handle plenty of cleaning thanks to its PU leather and hub-less casters. The leather is detailed to “surpass industry performance standards for strength abrasion, hydrolysis, and UV stability,” so that seems good.

For now, it’s holding strong and maybe I’ll post an update to this review in six months or so.

Price

I don’t know how much anyone here spends on chairs, but for me, it’s never been more than $199. Anything higher than that seemed silly, but when I think more about it, if you want something that is high quality and comes with plenty of features, you might have to pay higher prices.

EwinRacing has a large selection of chairs that covers a wide range of prices, but for this Champion Series chair that I received, the price is currently $219. This is 42% off its list price of $379, but on top of that, there are different chairs in this particular series that range in color and size. Thinking objectively, even though I was gifted this chair in exchange for this review, I could easily see myself dropping a couple hundred dollars on this chair.

If you’re stuck at home like us, and you need a new chair for all of your work and/or gaming needs, feel free to check out the Champion Series by following the link below.

Ewin RGB Gaming Desk review – Let’s get lit

Ewin 2.0 Rgb Gaming Desk 2

The Ewin Racing brand operates in the gaming space, but the majority of its products are racing-style chairs. They are a common site with video creators and streamers, whom the brand specifically targets for its marketing. Although the focus from Ewin Racing has been to put its product in front of as many people as possible, especially those who have a wide-spread reach in the gaming market, that doesn’t mean that an RGB desk like the Ewin RGB Gaming Desk also fits that marketing plan. For starters, a chair is on camera when a stream or video is shot. A desk, on the other hand, is generally something for the user to enjoy. It may or may not have functionality beyond a general gaming desk.

In the case of the Ewin 2.0 RGB Gaming Desk, it functions for the sole purpose to please those who are wanting a customizable desk that also serves the purpose of a command station. And honestly, it does both of those things fairly well, albeit with a few sacrifices to functionality.

Desk4

Some assembly required

When I came home to find the box for the Ewin desk sitting on my porch, I was surprised at its sheer size and weight. Most of that weight comes from the desktop itself, chiming in at 48″ (120 cm) wide and having a depth of 26.8″ (68 cm). This is important if you’re wondering whether it can support a single, dual, or even triple monitor setup. The entire desk, legs and top, weighs a little over 55 lbs (25.3 kg). So, if you’re wondering whether or not it’s sturdy — it is.

For the most part, the Ewin 2.0 RGB Gaming Desk has a pretty straightforward assembly, so much so that it only comes with one skimpy page for instructions. This is great and all if you’ve got the know-how to assemble furniture with little direction. Although, I still could have used more direction on the RGB cords and setup. The desktop does house two feed-through ports from below your desk to the top for cable management.

Ewin 2.0 Rgb Gaming Desk

At this point, I’m still unsure if they have more functionality to them, like working with Phillips HUE or any other third-party light system. There are two RGB wires that hang from either side of the desk. They end up connecting to a USB extension that can be plugged into your PC or a power source. This is what powers the RGB panel that runs along the sides of the desktop and the legs, emitting the color-coded light of your choosing.

Functionality

With the way the wires run on the RGB desk, though, the options to place your tower are limited if you’re powering it via USB into your PC. Even if you are not going to be setting it up this way, you still have to account for ventilation wherever your PC tower is going to sit. As mentioned, there is quite a bit of desk space to house multiple monitors. In this case, I was able to fit my rig and monitor side by side. And on a side note, if you normally have drinks on your desk, the desk comes with a swiveling cupholder that can support mugs with handles. It turned out to be utterly convenient.

Ewin 2.0 Rgb Gaming Desk 5

I wouldn’t have normally opted for my PC to be sitting beside my monitor sideways. I recently just built into a mid-tower case with a tempered glass side, complete with ASUS Aura Sync motherboard. This was done to put my AMD RGB Wraith Prism cooler, Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM, and Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard to good use (and on display). Admittedly, I did move it around to finally arrive at the setup seen in the picture below, something that still manages to showcase its shine.

Oh, the colors

It seems like the bottom line here is that, if you’re wanting to finalize or complete your RGB setup, the Ewin 2.0 RGB Gaming Desk is most likely the last or first thing you’d pick up. For me, I already saw the prettiness that came with the Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard and light effects on my Corsair RAM. I was wanting to obtain an RGB motherboard in order to have customizability with the AMD Wraith Prism cooler. All of these products synced quite nicely together to have all the lights on my desktop dance, shine, and emit just about any color of the rainbow. The desk was really the icing on the cake for my setup.

Ewin 2.0 Rgb Gaming Desk 1

I wasn’t in the market for a new gaming desk, let alone one that had RGB lighting. My gaming center genuinely feels like a command station now, complete with a color scheme and design that I chose. As far as I know, the Ewin desk is limited to the preprogrammed schemes, but they were close enough to the lighting that I chose on my desktop. I was relieved when everything came together and I could admire something that was customized to my tastes. Because, at the end of the day, this is where I’m choosing to wind down and spend my relax time.

Final thoughts

Once again, I find myself surprised and impressed with the offerings from Ewin Racing. The Ewin 2.0 RGB Gaming Desk is a sturdy, quality gaming desk that happens to feature RGB lights. You can let the lights dance about or simply lock them into a color of your choosing, if it matches up with your current color scheme. Ultimately, I’m happy as to how everything was finally pieced together and how it feels like it’s mine in terms of a custom gaming station.

You will have to keep in mind what you want on your desktop though; there are no shelves for your tower or drawers here. These are the sacrifices for vanity, I suppose.

Overall, if you’ve been wanting your PC’s light show to extend beyond keyboards, mice, motherboards, and RAM, then the Ewin gaming desk is where you start or end your RGB journey.

Price: $399 USD

Dimensions: 120 cm wide X 68 cm deep X 75 cm tall

8

The Ewin 2.0 RGB Gaming Desk has easily become a sturdy, yet, important set-piece to my gaming station. What initially intrigued me as a gimmick has become part of my lighted PC gaming station experience. It matches up well with a number of different RGB products, such as my Asus Aura Sync motherboard, AMD Wraith Prism cooler, RGB RAM, and Razer Ornata Chroma. As a fair warning, you will lose out on standard desk features, like storage, drawers, and a platform for your PC. However, the desktop offers ports to feed cables through for easy management. It’s the kind of accessory that can complete your RGB light show or be the first thing to drive you to buy more hardware with dancing lights. The end result, though, was something that felt customized to my tastes.

PROS
  • Decent color palette
  • Sturdy, wide, and comfortable design
  • Mostly easy to piece together
  • Cable management ports on both sides of the desktop
  • Swivel cupholder is a nice addition and use of space
CONS
  • Losing out on desk storage space
  • Could have done more (given the price) to offer more custom colors and patterns

Perhaps one of the most critical paths to true PC-gamer ascension is gobs of stylish LED lights. Keyboards, mice, mousepads, and even sticks of RAM have flashy, hypnotic LED lighting in them. Having a desk like the E-Win 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk join your RGB disco just makes sense. Like your gaming PC, gaming mouse, or just about any PC peripheral these days, the E-Win 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk features two thick strips of RGB lighting that you can assign to glow in a rippling stream of colors or just light up with a single hue.

Besides glowing with all the colors of the rainbow, the E-Win 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk has an attachable cup holder that’s pretty handy. The desktop has also been treated with a carbon fiber-like texture, which allows the whole surface of the desk to act like a mousepad.

GEAR REVIEW: EWIN RACING KNIGHT SERIES GAMING CHAIR

Quality Construction, Uncommon Comfort

PC Gaming Chair

If you’re anything like me, then you probably spend a lot of time in front of your computer. And whether you’re hours into a marathon session of your favorite game or crunching to hit last-minute deadlines, your choice in PC gaming chairs can spell the difference between hours of pain or productivity. With my old office chair falling into the former category, I jumped at the opportunity when offered the chance to put Ewin Racing’s Knight Series chair through its paces (thanks, Sally!). Now, after spending a couple of weeks with it, I’m happy to report that this is one quality throne that’s well worth its hefty price tag.

Once you get it out of the box, the Ewin Knight Series chair is a breeze to put together despite its somewhat intimidatingly massive box. With easy to follow instructions and only 11 pieces total (including the hardware), it should only take even the clumsiest of gamers only about a half-hour to assemble with the included set of hex keys. Just mount the backrest to the seat, screw on the adjustable armrests, and pop the wheels and cylinder to the base and you’re good to go. After that, you’ll be ready to game in comfort and style.

The Best Seat In The House

Gaming chair

The Ewin Knight Series Chair is a comfortable and attractive addition to any office or game room.

From the moment you first sit in it, it’s clear that the Knight Series chair is a quality product. The seat and backrest are constructed of sturdy, and high density integrated foaming which provides both excellent back support and comfort, even after extensive use. The metal frame and aluminum base, while quite heavy, come together to offer the perfect combination of coziness and durability.

The high-back chair can recline from 85 to 155 degrees, which is a very welcome feature for squirmy folks like me who frequently need to adjust their posture when sitting for extended periods of time. Additionally, you can adjust the chair’s multi-directional tilt and lock control mechanism, which is attached to a class 4 gas piston, to give it a few degrees of extra sway when you lean back or to the sides, which is a nice touch, though I’ll admit it took some getting used to this feature before I felt entirely comfortable leaning all the way back. Thankfully, any concerns proved to be my own personal paranoia and not any fault of the chair itself, which has miraculously remained upright despite my son’s pets’ best efforts to send me teetering to an early demise.

As for the chair’s 4D armrests, while not particularly well-cushioned, they do manage to slide easily into position and offer a satisfying degree of adjustability. As you’d expect, the chair also comes with a pair of cushioned pillows – one for the head or neck and one for the lumbar region. While the head pillow is perfectly serviceable, I especially liked the lumbar pillow as it is perfectly contoured to the small of my back. As someone who has been plagued with pain in that region for a few decades now thanks to an abusive relationship with skateboarding, I’ve always had trouble finding comfortable chairs that take the strain off of this problem area. Thankfully, the Knight Series chair is the perfect panacea in this regard.

One Throne To Own Them All

No doubt about it, the Ewin Racing Knight Series chair is a well-built and comfortable piece of furniture. Thankfully, it’s a really good looking one to boot. Subtlely and tastefully designed, the chair is primarily black. However, it can be ordered with a wide variety of colored accents that give it a splash of personality without being too garish (a trait which many racing chairs seem to suffer from). It’s a chair that straddles the line between serviceable and stylish and would look right at home in both your game room or in an office setting. That said, those looking for a chair that pops might be somewhat disappointed with the Knight’s more reserved design, but I myself found its aesthetic to be very easy on the eyes.

When all is said and done, the Ewin Racing Knight Series chair comes highly recommended. Featuring quality construction and an attractive design, it’s an excellent seating solution for both die-hard gamers and those simply looking for a comfortable place to plop their keister down and get some work done. Retailing for $300, it’s certainly not a cheap piece of furniture, but the chair’s build quality and adjustability and customization options make it a sleek and luxurious addition to anyone’s home or office.

EWINRACING GAMING CHAIR REVIEW – A LONG WEEKEND WELL SPENT

EwinRacing Gaming Chair Review – A Long Weekend Well Spent

EwinRacing Gaming Chairs reached out to Gigamax Games requesting a review on their Knight Series gaming chairs. They offered no monetary compensation and genuinely seemed as though they were interested in honest unadulterated feedback. After Mack spent a couple of weekends testing the gaming chair, this was his impression.

EwinRacing Gaming Chairs – Background

I am a console gamer that feels at home surrounded by pillows, blankets, and in front of a big TV a foot away from my face. The idea of a gaming chair was a little intimidating. After looking into the gaming chair EwinRacing wanted to send, that nervousness subsided a bit. It looked cool, loved the blue and black color scheme, and after recently hurting my neck the thought of sitting upright and not sinking into a couch was euphoric.

Assembly

The package arrived only a couple of days after I was notified it was shipped. Secretly, I was hoping it would come magically assembled, but that was more a testament to my lack of faith when it came to my handiness. Opening up the large package took me back a bit. I envisioned a mess of chair parts, screws, and strange components lying scattered around the box. What I received, however, was a neatly organized, logically segmented box filled with all the parts I need to assemble my very own gaming chair.

ewinracing gaming chair, ewinracing gaming chair review, ewinracing gaming chair assembly

Still, I wasn’t thrilled there was a task to accomplish before I was able to get to gaming. Immediately my girlfriend and I began working to put together this piece of gaming equipment. She was on instructions and I was on assembly. The first step was to remove all the plastic from the major pieces, backrest, seat, and armrests. After an interesting few minutes of wrestling with plastic, it was time to dive in. Suddenly I was stopped in my tracks. She interrupted my eagerness by throwing a pair of gloves at me. I was perplexed. Why did they include gloves? Why where the instructions so insistent on me using said gloves. But they looked funny so I rolled with it.

Soon it became clear why these gloves came into play. There were very few sections throughout the assembly where you were asked to unscrew and re-screw some bolts. It was relatively easy and all the parts matched up beautifully but each bolt was heavily greased. The gloves allowed me to grip the bolts and avoid having grease stains on my hands for the rest of the weekend. It was a fantastic addition to the assembly kit.

Many of the parts just snapped together. The Hex Key was the only tool needed and that was included. It even came with spare parts that were labeled “spare parts” so you knew you weren’t accidentally leaving out critical components. There wasn’t much work that was needed in terms of the Hex Key and the step-by-step instructions were clear and easy to follow. Assembly took about an hour and a half in total. Some of that was spent joking around, watching stand up comedy, and not paying attention to the instructions that were being given. I was dreading assembling this chair for days but it came together without a single argument or headache.

First Impression

After the EwinRacing gaming chair was assembled, it was time to look back and see the fruits of our labor. It was a great looking chair. There’s no doubt about the design being ergonomically correct. The sleek lines and vibrant blue and deep black with just a dash of the EwinRacing logo was gorgeous.

A few seconds of enjoying the sight, I hopped on to see how it felt. It was apparent this was no cheap Stables office chair. This was a solid piece of gaming equipment. The chair even rolled well on carpet. Everything about the chair felt like it was designed for a person to spend long periods in one position and remain comfortable.

A Full Day of Gaming

There was no doubt a learning curve when it came to gaming in a chair. That was embarrassing to write but it was the absolute truth. I knew that it was better for my back but I just didn’t feel “comfortable”. I say “comfortable” because it was a different kind of comfort than what I was accustomed to. Instead of being surrounded by fluffy pillows, a cat or two, and enough blankets to build a fort, I was sitting upright and without back or neck pain.

An entire day was set aside for gaming. Strategically placed water cups and meals were located around my gaming setup to limit movement. It was on. The day was here to put countless consecutive hours on my ass and see what all the fuss was about gaming on these relatively expensive chairs.

ewinracing gaming chair review, ewinracing gaming chair, gaming chair review, gaming gear review, best gaming chair, ewin gaming chair

In just two hours it became clear why people are extremely enthusiastic about high-quality gaming chairs. The seat was soft yet firm, the adjustable neck pillow is easily repositioned for maximum comfort, the loose lumbar support pillow and height-adjustable arms rests were the perfect additions to make the entire chair feel like it conformed to your body added up to a mind-blowing experience. Never thought I’d describe sitting in a chair as mind-blowing, but it thoroughly delivered a higher-level gaming experience.

I wasn’t forced to constantly change positions. The adjustable height and recline feature allowed for quick controllable adjustments without needing to stack pillows and stretch out my damaged backbone. But the obvious benefits showed themselves after spending over ten plus hours in the chair.

Of course, there were times I had to get up to use the bathroom. Couldn’t swing a Cartman move from the World of Warcraft episode. And eventually, my water cups ran dry.

After 10+ hours of gaming, sitting upright, my back and neck felt phenomenal but I wanted to lean forward a bit. I was getting wrecked in Iron Banner and felt like I needed to get into gaming mode. A majority of the day was spent playing single-player games so this need never really came up. Leaning forward, the entire chair swiveled forward as if it understood what I wanted to do. Placing my elbows to my knees became uncomfortable, fast. I was at a loss. It almost seemed like it was going to support my body perfectly but this just wasn’t doing it for me. Nearly a second after that thought, it dawned on me, “the lumbar pillow!”. I reached around to the back and placed the lumbar pillow on my legs and rested my elbows upon it. There it was. A perfect forward-leaning position and the EwinRacing gaming chair had all the components to bring it together.

Overview

After a full weekend of gaming, out of my comfort zone, sitting upright in a chair, I was sold. All the subtle little add-ons like the adjustable pillows, forward-lean (gamer mode) support and the versatility of the lumbar pillow, and the incredibly smooth-rolling wheels even on the old carpet were just icing on the cake. The substance of the chair, a firm yet soft, solid yet not overly bulky design, and sleek color scheme all made for a fantastic addition to my gaming setup. Unfortunately, I’ll need to say goodbye soon. The EwinRacing Gaming chair will be given to our featured streamer, SolidTony as a gift for his support and continued growth as a Twitch streamer. However, I sold myself. I’ll be picking up another for my personal use.

I want to reiterate. EwinRacing did not provide monetary compensation for this review. The chair was fantastic and it was the first time I gamed an entire weekend without back or neck pain. Even writing this review in my bed, I realize I should have written this sitting on the chair.

Ewin-Knight-Series-Gaming-Chair-Review

EwinRacing gaming chairs!

For my day job for the past eight years, I’ve been sitting on an exercise ball at the office. I do a lot of graphic design, spend a lot of time in front of a computer and the ball’s been great. It makes me sit up straight. You can’t slouch, I’m always bouncing around, it’s a lot of fun. But, another effect of sitting on a ball for years, is regular chairs now really hurt my back when I spend a lot of time in them.

I realize how important it is to select the right chair. I spend a lot of time right here editing the show, researching the show, recording the show, doing some freelance illustration and graphic design. I’ve been sitting on an old wooden chair, that’s not been the best.  So when the fine folks at EWinRacing.com reached out and offered us a chair for review, I jumped at the opportunity! I have found my new podcasting chair! This is a premium, high-end luxury gaming chair. Not only were they nice enough to send me a chair for review, they were also nice enough to give us huge savings for you, our listener.  If you visit EwinRacing.com and use the code JockNerd at checkout, you’ll get 25% off EWin Racing Gaming Chairs.

The model that I received is the EWin Knight Series Ergonomic Computer Gaming Office Chair with Pillows. Yes, it comes with pillows!

Assembly

If you’ve ever assembled any kind of office furniture, you know the most overwhelming part is when you open the box and there’s just a whole bunch of generic looking parts. Not so here!  I noticed right away that it’s well-packed. There’s not too many parts. There’s just exactly what you need and you get a sense of the solid construction right away. These are heavy-duty, sturdy chairs. I will admit, I may not be the most mechanically inclined person but, I am very good at following directions. It comes with easy to follow instructions with full color photographs which are very helpful.

It comes with another unique feature I’ve never seen when assembling stuff, a pair of white installation gloves which is very smart. First of all, you feel cool, you get in the assembling mood when you put them on. There’s a lot of pre-installed hex bolts that are greased up. So at the end, my the gloves had a little bit of grease on them and it was great not having to worry about getting your hands dirty.  The chair comes with all the hex bolts, Allen wrenches, everything you need, extra pieces, decorative pieces to cover up the screws. The assembly is not hard at all.  I will admit that I had a little bit of trouble attaching the chair back to the seat, but once you align it up and you get it going, the rest of it is a breeze. Easily done by one person. If you have another person to help for a a couple of steps it helps, but it’s not necessary. You can put this whole thing together by yourself. From opening the box to sitting in the chair took me about 40 minutes and I’m a stoner dumbass! That means for a normal person, probably takes about 20 minutes.

The Look

The chair looks super sharp in my office. The design, is great. This model is black with some red trim. There’s even red on the wheels and the base and suit my little office perfectly. The design is based on a high-end racing car seat. In fact, one of my guilty pleasures is the TV show “The Voice” on NBC.  These chairs remind me of The Voice chairs the judges sit in spin around if they liked the artists and want them on their team. That’s how slick this design is. Sometimes I’ll turn on The Voice and take the chair and turn my back to it. If I like the person singing, I’ll slowly spin around and imagine that now I have to fight for them to be on my team. Yeah, sometimes I can be lame like that.

Comfort and Features

The chair is made out of PVC leather and it looks really premium. Feels really nice, and is easy to clean. It’s just a sharp looking chair. The chair comes with two pillows; a little one for the headrest that comes with an adjustable strap, and a lower lumbar pillow for your back, that you can remove. If you don’t want it, you don’t have to use it. But, it’s a great option, because it does make you sit up straight and helps with the lower back pain. It really gives me great posture while I’m podcasting. It’s very comfy, roomy and sturdy.

The chair uses “High-density Cold Cure Foam” for the seat and the backrest. It’s very similar to memory foam, so it’s very comfortable. It’s not too soft, like some other office chairs. The chair features adjustable height hydraulic pistons at the bottom, adjustable armrests, and a lever to lean back. You can have this chair upright, you can have it a little bit leaned back or you could lean this thing all the way back and take a nap in this chair!  That’s how far back it goes. It’s pretty amazing.

Another great thing was they asked me by height and weight to send me the chair that would fit my body type. There is a handy sizing chart on their site. Whether you are small or tall or large, they have a chair that fits you. This chair, I believe maximum a weight load is 400 pounds and they even have ones that are 500 pounds. A great selection for every type of gamer person.

One of the most important things about this chair that a lot of other people don’t appreciate, but I d, is that it is super quiet! This became important to me when we started podcasting. Originally, I had an office chair and it was so squeaky and noisy that I had to get rid of it. This EWin chair glides easily on the floor and it makes no noise!

Who is this chair good for?

I definitely recommend it for gamers. It’s super comfortable. You could spend hours on here, but also, podcasters. YouTubers, you need a chair to shoot your YouTube videos? That’s quiet, that doesn’t squeak? This is the perfect chair. This is a great office chair replacement. It may seem weird to choose a gaming chair for an office chair, but it just looks cool in the office, and is designed for several hours of sitting.

Another group of people I think this chair is great for, is graphic artists. Freelance artists that work at home, sit in front of their Wacom Cintiq Drawing Tablets and spend hours drawing. I would highly recommend this chair because you can roll around, you can lean back, take a break, you can draw, you can roll over play video games. The chair is fantastic !I’ve spent like three weeks now sitting in this chair. Super comfortable, does not hurt my back. The little back pillow is great.

The holidays are approaching! This would make a great holiday gift for the gamer, podcaster or artist in your life. Currently, the chair I’m sitting retails on their site for $189, but EWinracing.com have sales all the time. You can get 25% off by using our promo code JockNerd at checkout, giving you even more savings.

I love this chair! It is my new podcasting chair. I’m looking forward to creating many episodes of  podcast in comfort. Chairs are important. If you have back problems, if you find yourself a little sore, look at the chair you’re sitting in. Look at how much time you’re spending on there. We spend a lot of times in chairs. If you want a premium, comfortable, well-made PC gaming chair that just looks sharp, an EWin Racing Gaming Chair will not disappoint!
