Best gaming chairs 2019: T3’s best gaming chair picks, from PC gaming comfort to premium eSports rockers

These are the best gaming chairs on sale today, covering every budget – find the best gaming chair for you in 2019

T3’s best gaming chairs 2019 guide is here to help you navigate through all the different options out there, and reach your ultimate – the absolute best gaming chair for you, whether you’re a PC or a console gamer.

Of course we love gaming here at T3.com, which is why we know what we’re talking about when it comes to the best gaming chairs available in 2019. What follows is our expertly curated list of the best gaming chairs going, plus some useful advice to help you find the right one for whatever setup you’ve got at home.

Even with the new year sales season out of the way, it’s still a great time to pick up a premium gaming chair – you’ll find most of the top gaming chair makers discounting their ranges to delivering some very attractive gaming chair deals.

But just going online and splurging big bucks on the first gaming chair you see with “deal” written next to it is certainly not how you should go about picking the best gaming chair for you – do your research properly to avoid landing a product that looks good to begin with, but soon starts showing some flaws.

The truth is that picking a great gaming chair is hugely important if you’re a gamer: if you’ve invested a lot of money into your gaming setup with top titles, the best hardware and a dedicated area of your home or office to house it all in, you don’t want to compromise the whole setup by overlooking the importance of a specially-designed gaming chair.

If you don’t have the best gaming chair to go with your other hardware then chances are you will not be able to hit those high scores (or enemy targets). At the top level, marginal gains can make the difference between winning and losing, so investing in a gaming chair that aids you really is a no-brainer if you’re serious about gaming performance and comfort.

BEST GAMING CHAIRS 2019: WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

The main things to look out for when you’re buying a gaming chair are the differing levels of comfort and support included. Most come with the ability to make adjustments to height, but also look for adjustments to the armrests and the way the chair reclines too, as well as detachable cushions – which enable you to quickly change how your chair feels and how your body feels in it.

You should also determine what discipline or gaming genre the chair might have been tailored for. For example, some of the best gaming chairs on the market have been designed with racing or flight simulations in mind, while others for first person shooters, and the small differences in setup can often have a big impact on gaming performance. If you just need an all-round top gaming chair then don’t worry, though, as there are plenty of those, too.

WHAT’S THE BEST GAMING CHAIR?

There are many different gaming chairs tailored towards PC gaming, as well as playing games on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, with size, build material (such as leather), and feature sets differing.

The best gaming chair is therefore, first and foremost, the one that is most suited to your particular gaming setup and intended usage scenarios. Certain gaming chairs, for example, are built for use in simulation games such as racers and flight sims, while others specialise in supporting gamers in MOBA or FPS titles.

Naturally, you should also consider the look and style you’re going for when choosing one the best gaming chairs on the market in 2019.

Fortunately, most gaming chairs are suitably stylish and tend to resemble leather-clad racing car seats, but you’ll obviously want to pick a style that goes the best with your gaming room decor, as well as a colour that won’t annoy you or your partner hours into a gaming marathon.

With a mixture of tastes and usage scenarios catered for, from luxurious and leather-clad, to super-soft and stylish, these are the best gaming chairs available in 2019.

BEST GAMING CHAIRS 2019: WHO ARE THE BEST GAMING CHAIR MAKERS?

It’s also absolutely crucial when buying a gaming chair that you pick one up from a premium, respected maker that has proper heritage, as many new brands have suddenly started to flood into the market.

Some slick marketing and a deluge of copycat designs later, and the waters are now well and truly muddied. That makes it very hard for the uninitiated to tell if a gaming chair has the build quality to go the distance, or is a six-months-later-and-the-stitching-is-coming-loose dud.

The makers that follow here are approved by T3 to be gaming chair producers of the highest quality: Nitro Concepts, Secretlab, GT Omega Racing, EWIN, Noblechairs, X Rocker, DXRacer, Vertagear, Corsair, and Songmics.

EWin Racing Gaming Chair Review (Calling Series)

Looking for a new gaming chair? This is our review of the EWin Calling Series!

 PROS:

  • Completely adjustable and very comfortable
  • Promotes good posture, which helps with blood circulation
  • Variety of uses, including office chair, gaming chair, etc.
  • Comes in a variety of colors

 CONS:

  • Expensive relative to standard swivel chairs
  • Too tall for those 5’0” and under

 VERDICT:

If you spend a lot of time in sitting, we think that this is a good chair for you. Whether you work long hours, are trying to improve your posture and overall health, or you stay up all night playing World of Warcraft, this chair is going to change your life. We love how adjustable it is, which helps it to be much more comfortable overall, for anyone. We realize that it has a hefty price tag, but we think it’s worth it if you sit a lot.

EWIN GAMING CHAIR REVIEW

If you have a desk job, chances are you have an office chair. Most Americans work an eight-hour work day, which means you could be spending up to eight hours a day in that chair. Quick question—are you comfortable in this chair? Are you sitting properly with good posture? Turns out, most people aren’t, but you can fix this pretty much instantly.

In this review we discuss the EWin Racing Calling Series Gaming Chair that the company sent us to check out.

PRICE OF THE EWIN CALLING SERIES CHAIR

Don’t get us wrong, we realize you might have some sticker shock when you see the price of this chair. It’s $359 before any sales, but as of this post, it’s currently on sale for $259.

Before you write this chair off completely because of the price, remember the health and comfort benefits that it offers. Maintaining proper posture while you sit can improve circulation, improve breathing efficiency, and overall oxygen supply to the brain, heart, and other vital organs.

Think of it like the organic vegtables at the grocery store: they’re expensive, but probably better for you in the long run.

And to be honest, for gaming chairs, it’s not actually egregiously priced. They also make plenty of other gaming chairs.

DESIGN & SPECS

Basically, EWin created this chair to give the user complete control over customizing it, so that they can reach maximum comfort.

The base of the chair is a steel metal frame, with a dense memory foam molding on top. The chair doesn’t really feel like memory foam to us though, it just feels like dense foam because it has fast responsiveness.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The chair is then supported on a nylon five star base that rolls around on wheels, and has support pillows for the neck and lower back that are attached by elastic straps. The pillows can also be removed if you wish.

This chair can support up to 330 lb.

Now let’s get into all these customizable features we keep promising you. First, the armrests can be lifted and lowered. This is important to make sure that you’re not scrunching your shoulders up to use the arm rest.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The overall chair is also adjustable, letting you adjust to where you can comfortably lay both feet on the ground. We found that most of the guys in the office could accomplish this, but Kaite Kale who is five-foot-nothing couldn’t make the chair short enough to be comfortable, so we don’t recommend this chair for those who are 5’ tall or under.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The back is lever operated between 85 degrees to 115 degrees. If you want to be awake and alert, set this chair all the way upright, and if you want to take a nap, lay it all the way down. We think gamers will really like this ability to recline to their comfort. On top of that, you can lock the seat of the chair with the “tilt lock” so you can tilt both the back of the chair and the seat of the chair back together.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

Besides all that, you can further customize this chair with your favorite color. It’s available in accent colors of black, grey, red, orange, yellow, lime green, blue, brown, light pink, and white.

USING THE EWIN RACING GAMING CHAIR

This is definitely an office favorite around RIZKNOWS. In fact, we might have to make a rotation chart in the office among the guys because they keep fighting over who gets to use it. It’s incredibly comfortable and even though we have all different sizes of people in the office, it can fit each and every one (besides Kaite) because it is so adjustable in so many ways.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

We think it’s definitely a luxury expense, but if you’re someone who sits for the majority of the day during work or play, we suggest this chair to you.

Best gaming chair 2019: The best PC gaming chairs you can buy

If you spend hours gaming, good posture is vital: these chairs offer the support you need to stay fit and focused

Some gamers only value a powerful PC: a high-end graphics card, a fast internet connection and a big monitor are their touchstones. Yet you can’t be a true king of gaming without the right throne.

Of course, the joke in the gaming community is that a dedicated computer chair makes you a wannabe hacker, but don’t listen. A specialist seat can help you maintain a good posture, keep you comfortable and reduce strain and tension during long gaming sessions. That may not sound important, especially to younger gamers, but the last thing you want is an injury that affects your ability to work, rest and kick ass in PUBG or League of Legends.

But what should you look for? Here’s everything you need to know before making a purchase and, below, our top picks of 2019.

How to choose the best gaming chair for you

There are a few key elements that differentiate a gaming chair from a regular office chair. The most obvious is the aesthetics: most gaming chairs are designed to look cool, as if they’ve been plucked out of a race car or an oversized PC rig. They come in a variety of eye-catching colours so, if you’ve had your heart set on a bright orange chair, you may be in luck. Of course, there are more professional-looking designs, too. Aesthetics are subjective so pick whatever captures your heart.

Gaming chairs also come in a range of materials, from fabric to real and synthetic leather. Make the right choice: if you’re gaming in a hot room, a fabric chair might get uncomfortable. That’s not the case with a mesh-styled gaming chair or one that uses premium materials.

Chair size is another important consideration. Gaming chairs provide neck support, often with dedicated neck and lumbar pillows, so they’re comfortable to sit in for long periods. To get the benefit, though, you need a chair that’s the right size for your body. Pay close attention to the dimensions and check the height adjustment options.

For the snuggest fit, you may want to choose a car-seat style design, which will typically include thigh support side bolsters, along with waist and shoulder pads that resemble a racing seat.

E-Win Flash XL: Perfect for tall individuals

Being tall has its benefits: you can see over people’s heads and might be mistaken as ‘The Mountain’ from Game of Thrones. However, when it comes to gaming chairs your options are somewhat limited – not every chair will accommodate your tall frame and if you’ve been hitting the gym your body won’t fit in some of these bespoke narrow chairs. Alas, E-Win Europe’s Flash XL caters for such individuals.

The chair is supremely comfortable with cold moulding foam, has all the right adjustments and is wide, tall, large and strong enough, too. It has 4D armrests, a rocking mechanism (but with no angle lock), comes with lumbar and neck pillows and comes with a 5-year warranty. If you’re tall or well-built, the Flash XL is an excellent choice.

Key specs – Height adjustability: 12cm; Width of seat base (inner): 38-42cm; Length of backrest: 85cm; Width of backrest (total and inner): 57cm and 34cm; Backrest adjustability: 85-155°; Seat depth: 54cm; 4D armrest: Yes, lockable; Rocking mechanism:Yes up to 11° with no angle lock; Pillows: Yes, lumbar and neck; Maximum weight (user):150kg; Warranty: 5 years

The Review

I’ve got a couple videos to start this off with, the first one is the unboxing video so you can see all the parts and everything that’s included and how well it’s packaged:

EwinRacing EWin Knight Series Gaming Office Chair Unboxing

The second video is something new, I recorded myself actually assembling the EWin Knight Series Gaming Chair. I did this because I wanted to show just how easy it is to do and just how fast it is, just over 10 minutes in total really. I’ve assembled two of these chairs already so my time might be quicker than someone who never made one, but it shouldn’t take much longer really. You can watch the whole thing if you want or skip through, but you can see it’s easy to assemble, the instructions are easy to follow and all the parts and even extras and tools are included for you. Click here to watch assembly video.

The chair ships in a sturdy and very large box and it’s heavy, Fedex tracking said the box weighed in at 56lbs. Everything is wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap, depending on the part, for protection and it’s layered with cardboard between for even more protection. The box is taped closed but it also has plastic straps as well.

Inside of the box you’ll find another smaller box with all the parts and accessories inside of it. You’ll find the casters, assorted plastic parts, mounts, pneumatic tube, tools, extra screws and nuts along with white cloth gloves and of course the instructions.

ewinknight4 ewinknight5

ewinknight10 ewinknight11

Everything is wrapped and protected during shipping and it arrives in pristine condition. The Knight Series chair I got for review is white and black in color but you can also get red/black, blue/black or yellow/black colors.

ewinknight12 ewinknight13

The last two Ewin chairs I got came with two pillows but Ewin has added a third at the top, a large pillow for your head that covers the whole head rest section. It attaches with elastic straps and plastic clips so you can move it or remove it easily. I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure about the new big pillow, it’s ok when you’re leaning back far and relaxed but when the chair is upright it’s not quite comfortable to have that large pillow there.

ewinknight14 ewinknight15

The other two pillows are the same, one for your back and one for your head. There is a set of elastic straps that go through the chair and up around the back, these are fastened with plastic clips. The two pillows have elastic straps and plastic clips on them as well, the pillows attach to the main straps on the chair and can be slid up and down the chair for your comfort.

ewinknight16 ewinknight17

ewinknight18

The Knight series chair is quality made, no excess material, even thick stitching all around. The covering of the chair is made of a synthetic leather material which is durable and it looks nice, underneath is triple density foam and a solid steel frame for support. The armrests are nice and large and what Ewin calls 2D, they slide up and down for comfort and lock into place, there’s a button on the side you push to unlock and move them.

ewinknight19 ewinknight20

ewinknight21 ewinknight22

The chair itself is well made and sturdy and it comes with a very solid and sturdy metal five star base which it and the casters attach to.

ewinknight23 ewinknight24

Assembly is very easy and quick, it took me just over ten minutes to get it all assembled and ready to use, I’d say that’s fast. The instructions are easy to follow with text and pictures of exactly what to do. Some of the screws are already in place for you, just remove them, attach the part, put the screws back in so there’s no need to try and figure out which screw goes where, I like that system as it makes things quick and easy.

The Ewin Knight Series chair was actually an early Christmas present for my 13 year old son Vinnie and he just loves it. I had him pose with it for a holiday themed picture for the review.

ewinknight34

Since it’s holidays here’s a few pictures of the Knight and Champion series chairs a little decorated and ready for Christmas:

 ewinknight32 ewinknight33

ewinknight35

For the last picture of this review I wanted to show you all three of my Ewin gaming chairs, it’s like my Ewin gaming chair family. From left to right they are the Hero Series, Knight Series and Champion Series. The oldest of the chairs is the red and black Hero Series which I reviewed back in May 2017, the chair is still in great condition except for some slight damage our kitten did to it, some claw holes as he likes to climb it and for some reason he chewed on the corners of the pillows. The cat damage didn’t have anything to do with the chair quality itself of course, the chair is fine, it still works great and it’s just as comfortable as the first day I sat in it. The all black chair is my personal chair, it’s the Champion Series which I reviewed in December 2017, I’ve used it everyday since, it’s excellent and very comfortable still, no issues with it at all.

ewinknight36

Conclusion

I’ve had plenty of chairs over the years, I was averaging having to buy a new one every year really as they just didn’t last and lost their comfort after a time, but this hasn’t happened with the EWin chairs I’ve owned, they’re still comfortable and like new ever after more than a year of using everyday. The Knight Series of chairs is EWin’s newest chairs so I can’t attest to their longevity right now but I’m fairly certain that it will last just as long, if not longer than the other EWin chairs I own as it’s the same quality material and sturdy build.

The chair is made from PU or synthetic leather and it looks very nice, this material is durable and easy to clean. The pattern is subtle but stylish, it’s mostly black with what I would call white accents.

Assembly is quick and easy, it took me just over ten minutes to assemble it thanks to the easy instructions and the fact that some of the screws or bolts are already in place for you so you don’t have to figure it out for yourself, it just makes things easier really.

New this year is a third pillow for your head to rest on and I’m not sure about it just yet as it’s a bit big, I think it could be because I’m not accustomed to it yet. All three pillows though are soft and comfortable, at first I wasn’t sure about them but now I can’t sit in the chair without them.

The chair is very comfortable thanks to its adjustability, you can sit straight up or incline almost flat and then there’s every angle in between as well. I use mine for work and play, have the chair up and then recline it to sit back and relax and watch a movie.

The casters move easily and quietly, they move just as smooth on carpet as they do on bare floors or a mat.

All in all the Knight Series is worthy of bearing the name Ewin Racing for sure, it’s an excellent quality and comfortable chair.

I can highly recommend the EWin Knight Series gaming chair or any EWin chair actually, it’s just a truly great chair that’s comfortable and will last a long time surely.

E-Win Racing Champion Series Gaming Chair Review

As someone who spends a large portion of the day working at a computer, comfort is a huge factor for me when it comes to chairs. My chiropractor keeps telling me that my bed, pillow and computer chair are the most important purchases I can make, since that’s where I’m spending the majority of my time. I’ve suffered through cheap, awful chairs in the past, but as someone who suffers from arthritis and chronic pain, I need to take my long-term health into consideration.

My previous chair felt nice when you first sat in it, but over time you would slowly begin to slouch into weird positions that your back would hate you for later. I knew I needed something with lumbar and neck support, so when E-Win Racing contacted me about reviewing one of their chairs, I jumped at the chance. Their Champion series ergonomic gaming office chair looked like exactly what I needed, and so they sent a unit out for me to test.

The box that arrived was massive and quite heavy, which I took as a sign that it’s tough and durable. This particular model, CP-BB3F, comes in a variety of colors, but I received the black version, which looks sleek and stylish but not gaudy and ostentatious like some gaming chairs I’ve seen. The chair was well-packed with plenty of bubble wrap and arrived without any damage. The assembly was quite straightforward, and the package even comes with a pair of white gloves to prevent staining the chair during assembly. Top marks for that!

I’ve never sat in a gaming chair before this, so I didn’t know what to expect. When the whole thing was assembled and I took a seat in it for the first time, I was amazed by the level of comfort, and how my posture seemed to almost immediately improve. The two adjustable pillows for the neck and lower back have a nice firmness that helps to take the pressure off of your neck and spine, which meant that I was able to get work done at my desk and play games for longer periods without excessive pain. The breathable material of the cushions worked well to prevent sweating on hot days. The only negative aspect that I’ve found so far is the wheels – they don’t work very well on carpet and it can be hard to move the chair around your space while you’re sitting in it.

The Champion has a very roomy feel to it, and its armrests are very adjustable. You can easily turn them outward or inward, as well as farther back or more towards the front. The gas lift allows you to raise and lower the chair about 4 inches, and the back tilt function allows you to tilt the chair back all the way to 180 degrees, which is nice for watching movies and TV or playing on your phone or tablet. I like that it has all of these options so that you’re not just locked into one position for many hours straight. I also really like the high back of the chair and the side cushions that support the upper back and shoulders.

I’ve used the E-Win Champion gaming chair for about two weeks now, and I have to say that I am very impressed by the quality and comfort of this product. I no longer feel as much pain and achiness when working or gaming for long hours, and my chiropractor approves of the lumbar and neck support so that I’m not undoing all of his hard work. The E-Win Champion has a lot of great features, solid build quality and the best comfort I’ve experienced in any chair, gaming or otherwise. The $299 asking price of this model may put some off, but this is a classic example of getting what you pay for. If you think of it as investing in your long-term spine health and your everyday comfort, I say it’s definitely worth the money. Your back will thank you for it.

The chair arrived without any major damage to the box, just the typical scuffs from shipping. The box itself has minimal branding with only “E-WIN” stamped on two sides, and there is product information on two sides in the form of stickers.

When opening the box there is a cardboard sheet underneath and covering the 5-point aluminum base, which separates the base from the rest of the chair for protection. The next layer is the chair’s back, which is laying on top of the seat and the box of assembly components. As you can see, there was a little room for the different parts to move during shipment. The empty space could be filled with foam blocks or something similar to create a more snug fit, but regardless, everything arrived in good condition.

Chair Seat & Accessory Box

The small box has the majority of parts for assembly. These include the assembly manual, gloves, bolts, L-shaped hex wrenches, casters, hinge covers, gas lift, gas lift cover, and the seat mount/adjustment mechanism. There are also some pre-installed bolts that are used for assembly and we’ll see those a little later. The included gloves were an unexpected surprise when opening the box. The gloves are good for initial assembly to prevent skin oils from getting on the chair for oil-free pictures. However, once the chair is assembled and being used, it’s basically inevitable that skin oils will make contact with the chair.

Assembly

Assembly begins by removing the four pre-installed bolts in the backrest. Now, the backrest can be placed on the seat, in line with the hinges. The four bolts that were removed are used to attach the backrest to the seat.

Once the backrest and seat are assembled, there are a couple of hinge covers to hide the hinge and bolts. These covers just use a single bolt for mounting and a hole cap to hide the bolt.

Next, we have to mount the tilt and lock mechanism to the bottom of the seat to get it ready for mounting on the base. There are four pre-installed bolts that need to be removed from the seat to make room for the tilt and lock mechanism, then use those same bolts to attach the mechanism to the seat. It’s also worth noting that the armrests are attached to the seat with four bolts and there are slots in the armrests for mounting….we’ll mention this again later.

Now we need to assemble the chair’s base, which is really simple and doesn’t require any tools. The first step is pushing the casters into the ends of the 5-point base.

Next, the gas lift is installed by simply pushing it into the center hole of the base and placing the cover over it.

The last step is to set the backrest and seat assembly onto the gas lift of the base. That’s it! After maybe fifteen minutes we have a fully assembled E-WIN gaming/office chair.

Build Quality

The overall build quality seems really good.

I can appreciate the metal components such as the steel frame and aluminum base.

The PU leather fits tight around the cold molded foam, and the seams look well-stitched. The combination of diamond pattern and dimples in the seat and on the backrest will help the contact areas be a little more breathable than flat leather.

PU Leather, Seam, & Zipper

Diamond & Dimple Pattern

The casters also aren’t the basic cheap plastic casters seen on most office chairs, the E-WIN casters’ two wheels are slightly softer and rubbery. This gives them a little more grip on hard floors, and they actually roll pretty well in my carpeted room as well.

Casters Installed

The lowest quality parts of the chair, in my opinion, are the plastic pieces. Particularly, the plastic parts around the hinge are really thin and flimsy. The plastic parts of the armrests seem to be better in quality, but there is quite a bit of a wiggle room in the armrests.

Ergonomics

There are many adjustments that can be made to the chair to better suit the individual. The back pillow can be adjusted to sit anywhere between the neck pillow and seat to ensure support and comfort. Also, both the neck and back pillows can be removed completely if you wish.

Pillows On

Pillows Off

One adjustment feature that I really like is the reclining backrest, which can recline to an almost flat laying position. Before using this chair, I’ve always had to use the tilt adjustment for reclining, which tilts both the seat and backrest together. The E-WIN Champion chair’s tilt feature is really tight, even with the tension knob turned all the way on its loosest setting. Now, once you recline the backrest some, it becomes easier to tilt the chair back and rock. I suppose the tightness of the tilt adjustment helps to reinforce good posture, but for those that enjoy a loose tilt feature and easy rocking, this could be a turn-off.

Reclined

The gas lift adjusts the seat by 4 inches which makes it so that the top of the seat can be between 19 and 23 inches off the ground. The lowest setting is higher than I’m used to, but it positions me so that my feet are flat on the ground with my knees at a right angle.

Gas Lift Lowered

Gas Lift Raised

The armrests can adjust in four different ways: forward/backward, left/right, vertical, and rotation. The forward and backward adjustment is around 2 inches, the left and right adjustment is maybe an inch, vertical adjustment is around 3.5 inches, and the rotation adjustment spins the ends about an inch in either direction. Also, when assembling the chair I noticed that the armrests are attached to the bottom of the seat with bolts that are placed through slots in the metal. This means that there is slightly more adjustment to be had in the left/right direction if you loosen those bolts and slide the armrests.

Warranty

Below is a quote from the E-WIN Racing warranty page.

EwinRacing promises to repair or replace any EwinRacing product or component that is found to be defective in material or workmanship within five (5) years from the date of original purchase so long as you, the original purchaser, still owns it. EwinRacing further warrants the steel frame for a period of ten (10) years. This is your sole and exclusive remedy. This warranty is subject to the provisions below. This warranty is effective with purchases made on or after February 28, 2017. Purchases made before that date have a different warranty term, please consult your retailer.

Conclusion

The most important thing everyone should keep in mind when looking to buy a new gaming chair or office chair is that comfort is subjective. All of the adjustment options available on the CP-BB3F will help broaden the range of types of individuals that could benefit from and enjoy the chair. The chair definitely forces me to sit with good posture, which is a good thing especially since I’m notorious for bad desk posture. I like the feel of the PU leather, memory foam, and how the edges of the seat and back wrap around me slightly.

The E-WIN Champion Series CP-BB3F Chair has an MSRP of $379 but happens to be on sale for $309. I’ve never spent more than around $100 on a chair before, so the price was surprising to me at first glance on E-WIN’s website. However, after using the chair I realized that the materials used and available features are what makes the Champion Series chair a chair in the $300-400 price range.

For me, the only real downside to the chair was the thin plastic parts covering the hinges on the side of the chair. I feel like those parts could be thicker and more sturdy for a chair pricing at close to $400 MSRP. However, this isn’t a deal breaker for whether or not I’d recommend the chair, just something the consumer should be aware of before purchase.

Overall, I feel like the E-WIN Champion Series CP-BB3F chair is a solid and comfortable chair that could be used for gaming, office or any setting that requires sitting for an extended time.

E-WIN CHAMPION SERIES CPH GAMING CHAIR REVIEW

Introduction

“It’s just a chair isn’t it?” I hear you say when the the term ‘gaming chair’ is used…

Well, you definitely could said that or as I would say, always looking on the positive side, “a new opportunity to explore another frontier in gaming peripheral”.

OK, perhaps I am glamourising it a bit too much, but in recent years there has been an ever increasing interest in ‘gaming’ focused chairs that have a racing / bucket seat design.

You only have to have a quick glance around a major LAN event (such as Insomnia Gaming festival) to see the many gamers use these well built gaming chairs as a miniature trolley to transsport their rigs to the venue  as well as to perch themselves on for the weekend.

But what makes these gaming chairs so good? Do they blow conventional office equipment out of the water?

Well, let’s start by answering that with a shallow observation: they look pretty awesome!

The E-Win Champion Series CPH - you can't deny it looks pretty cool!

The E-Win Champion Series CPH – you can’t deny it looks pretty cool!

But surely, looks alone cannot carry you to gaming chair comfort nirvana can it?

Good question – let’s find out….

Product Assembly

E-Win have kindly subsidised the cost of the review sample of the E-Win Champion Series CPH gaming chair so we are able to bring you our review today.

First up, let’s take a look a the build process for the chair from unboxing to completion.

The chair arrived in a large, heavy but relatively square package adorned with ‘E-Win’ tape over the box – there was no guessing what was going to be inside:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Boxed

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Boxed

Keen to crack the beast out of its lair, I ignore the warning of not to use a knife to open the tape.  “I’ll be careful” I thought as I used a sharp kitchen knife to tentatively split the tape at the seams.  Thankfully E-Win anticipated numpties like me might be a bit over zealous to get into the box by placing a good tactical shield of cardboard on the top of package.  Good job, because, if you look at the picture below closely, I put in a nice knife score into package that would have otherwise gone into the chair’s fabric:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Unboxing

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Unboxing

First out of the box is the star-shaped base.  Immediately you can see this is going to be a pleasure of a product in terms of build quality right out of the gate.  The E-Win Champion Series CPH gaming chair base is made of solid aluminium and you can tell this is a solid foundation that will last for years to come:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Base

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Base

Once the upper layer of cardboard and the base is removed, you can now see into the contents of the box.  This reveals a very well packaged chair that comes in two distinct parts – the backrest and the seat tray.  This is a clever piece of packaging which minimises the amount of effort that the customer needs to undertake to complete assembly:

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Box Contents

After taking the backrest out of the packaging and propping it up against the wall for later, you get the first glimpse of the sheer build quality and materials used in this chair – they are off the scale.  The smell, touch and look of backrest alone was staggering – I was completely unprepared to experience this level of quality that has been put into this chair.

The chair features high-quality leather with a special diamond gridded / breathable centre to allow for maximum comfort and to minimise undesirable human ‘stickage’ to chair itself.  The backrest comes with the neck and lumber cushions pre-installed which are kept in position with straps, that clip together on the rear side of the chair:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Backrest

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Backrest

Next out of the box is the all-important seat tray.  Continuing the use of the diamond-gridded breathable material is a welcome addition to leather chair which would otherwise see you permanently adhered to the chair after an epic gaming session.  We can see the ‘4D’ armrests which can adjust in height, rotation and slide backwards and forwards to make sure your elbows and forearms are in the perfect position.

The material used on the arm rests is also top-notch – these are not hard plastic, rather these feel like a hard ‘foam’ texture which provide a comfortable amount of ‘give’ to them, while still remaining rigid enough to serve their purpose.  The seat tray itself is a ‘bucket’ seat design with raised sides and features a nice thick layer of memory foam.

This feels quite tough at first, like most memory foam products but will adjust itself over time the longer you use it.  The tension and resistance it gives is a testament to how well this product will keep its shape over time.  Finally the two struts that connect the seat tray with the backrest is covered with with a foam/paper material to protect it during transit:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Seat Tray

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Seat Tray

Last out of the box is a tool-kit required to assemble the remainder of the chair:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Tool Kit

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Tool Kit

After unpacking the tool-kit, we have a pair of side-bolt plastic covers, the seat life lever and reclining stiffness adjuster, the class-4 gas lift cylinder and telescopic plastic cover, 5 high-quality caster wheels, a pair of gloves, Allen keys and bolts required for assembly.  E-Win have thought of everything here and no other 3rd party tools are required for assembly:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Tool Kit Contents

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Tool Kit Contents

Lastly, inside the tool kit are the instructions for assembly.  The layout of this single folded piece of paper is somewhat odd and reads like playing a game of snakes and ladders; you start in the top left and follow the arrows in a ‘snaking’ pattern down the page – very odd.  This threw me off as I was expecting to go down to the next line and started trying to perform step ‘6’ instead of step ‘4’.  The photos are a little blurry and not very helpful at times.  My best advice – use this as a guide and let your intuition guide you – I made much better progress this way!

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Instructions

Moving onto the assembly photos,  I place the seat tray onto the floor, remove the packaging from the struts and line up the best rest.  This isn’t the easiest task at this stage as there is nothing to support the back rest at this point.

There are pre-punched holes in the leather with the bolts pass through to screw into the threads below the surface.  Be careful of the bolt alignment at this stage; as you can see in the photo below, I hadn’t got these completely square and needed to unscrew and re-align this before continuing.

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Side Bolts - Left

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Side Bolts – Left

Once the first side is aligned properly and in position, the other side is much easier to align and screw in.  Pictured here is one of the side guards and screw – note that these are different sizes – the one with the larger angled shape at the bottom goes on the right; don’t make the mistake I did and get these two the wrong way around 🙂 :

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Side Bolts - Right

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Side Bolts – Right

Next up, we place the chair on its back so we can access the underside.  Again, we see some more outstanding build quality – the seat cushion is suspended on a series of heavy duty straps which provides additional support and comfort during use.  Some heavy duty bolts need removing at this point in preparation for mounting the seat adjustment lever assembly:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Underneath

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Underneath

We are then able to mount the E-Win Champion Series CPH gaming chair seat adjustment assembly using the bolts we removed in the previous step.  Make sure you face the ‘Front’ in the direction the arrow is pointing towards the front of the seat.  Thankfully this was something I was able to manage to get correct first time 🙂 :

After the Seat Adjustment Assembly has been installed, we move back to the base again.  Turning it upside down, we grab the x5 caster wheels from earlier and push them into the slots provided – simples:

Next we flip the base back around the right-way up and insert the gas lift piston into position.  Insert the wider end into the hole provided:

…then add the telescopic gas lift piston cover over the top:

Finally, we align the hole on the seat adjustment assembly on the seat base with the gas lift piston.  Tip – it greatly helps to have a second person hold the chair while you line the two parts together.  Et Voilà! You have now successfully assembled the E-Win Champion Series CPH gaming chair!

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Build Complete

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Build Complete

What a beast – not only does it look the part but it is built like a tank!  I look forward to years of gaming with this baby 🙂

But how does it perform?  Is it comfortable?

Well let’s take this baby for a spin and find out…

Testing and Performance

So we know the chair looks amazing, features fantastic build quality and materials but this would be all for nothing is it doesn’t serve its purpose as a great gaming perch.

First, let’s take a look at the official specifications and dimensions from the manufacturer:

E-Win Champion Series CPH - Dimensions

E-Win Champion Series CPH – Dimensions

But how does this perform in practice?

Fear not reader, you do not have to read a wall of text about my thoughts and opinions on this chair.

Instead we offer for your viewing pleasure, a video review of the beast where I test drive and show you what it has to offer.

17 minutes too long?  TL:DR summary:

  • Amazing build quality
  • Looks fantastic
  • Outstanding materials used
  • Initially uncomfortable – memory foam takes a while to ‘bed in’
  • Expensive for what is essentially ‘a chair’
  • If you are looking for pure comfort and adjustability, you may be disappointed vs a high-end office chair

Conclusion and Rating

Before concluding and scoring the review, I would like to take the opportunity to again extend a massive thank you to E-Win for subsidising the cost of the review sample of this excellent gaming chair so that we could provide you with this article. You can check out E-win’s extensive catalogue of amazing looking gaming chairs on their website, here.

E-Win have ticked all the boxes any gamer would be primarily looking for with the E-Win Champion Series CPHgaming chair  – amazing looks, premium material and a build quality that would make a tank blush.

After the initial honeymoon period subsides, however, you do start to analyse your decision in a bit more depth.  Taking cost, initial comfort and limited areas of adjustment into consideration, this slightly tarnishes what could have been a home run for E-Win.

The summary of our findings are as below:

Pros:

  • Incredible looks – the all black design of E-Win Champion Series CPH gaming chair and use of premium materials / design is fantastic.  Full marks in this area – this is a chair you would proudly wheel into a LAN party any day of the week
  • Build quality – off the scale.  I cannot praise this enough; the combination of steel frame, memory foam, suspended seat tray, base and casters are absolutely insane.  The term ‘built like a tank’ gets thrown around far too often but in this case, it is entirely justified
  • Armrests – good level of adjustment (height, rotation and forward/backwards sliding) and comfortable to rest forearms and elbows on.  Plenty of space to get my chunky tree-trunk thighs under to sit cross legged = win
  • Recline – this gaming chair reclines in a nearly horizontal position.  Use your imagination to put this to good use 😉
  • Silence – smooth rotation, movement on casters and no squeaking when sitting down or standing up.  All indications of great build quality
  • 5-Year Warranty

Cons:

  • With an RRP €309 on E-Win’s European site, this is a very expensive chair.  You can, however, use code RQ on https://www.ewinracing.eu for a 10% discount
  • Comfort – this is not the most comfortable chair I’ve ever used initially.  The memory foam takes time to ‘train’ before it becomes comfortable.  Even once adjusted, I fear, for this price a high-end office chair would have the edge but this likely applies to most gaming chairs
  • Weight – while the build quality is fantastic, the weight is not.  If you are intending to take this thing to LANs regularly, you will be in for a tough time lifting in / out of the car
  • Limited ergonomic adjustment – whilst better than most gaming chairs, the bucket seat combined with lack of seat tray lateral / tilt adjustment means the design favours style over comfort to a degree

The E-Win Champion Series CPH is an outstaning looking chair, utilising excellent materials and providing a build quality that is hard to put at fault. The inherrient flaws of a gaming chair design, however, are still apparent and therefore comfort and limited ergonmic adjustment take a hit as a result. Despite these small shortcomings, E-Win Champion Series CPH is still an excellent gaming chair and is worthy of the RageQuitters Epic Award:Ragequitters Epic Award

E-Win Champion Series Gaming Desk Chair Impressions

One of the most important components of your gaming PC setup, is your desk chair. Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time is bad for your health, but a good gaming chair, like a Champion Series gaming chair from E-Win, can help limit the effects of marathon sessions at your desk. After about a month of kicking back in one of these chairs for both work and play, I can definitely say that my body notices the difference.

The first thing I noticed while assembling the Champion Series chair that E-Win sent me was that quality is clearly their top priority. The materials are all tougher than you’d expect, the stitching is all strong and clean, and overall the chair feels solid. Assembly itself was pretty simple, and all the parts fit together easily and securely. Upon resting my keister on the Champion Series chair, I could immediately feel my body rejoicing as it was finally properly supported.

I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that my previous desk chair at home was a whim purchase at Office Depot during my freshman year of college. Needless to say, it had seen better days, and it definitely wasn’t doing anything for my posture or rump. Having said that, I’ve been lucky enough to have an employer that has supplied me with a variety of high-quality desk chairs at work over the years. The Champion Series chair was a welcomed upgrade at home, and it easily rivals the most expensive office chairs I’ve had at work for a fraction of the price.

At the surface, the Champion Series chair has a pretty standard set of features: swivel base with wheels, gas cylinder for controlling the height of the chair, a lockable spring-loaded joint for leaning the chair back, and height adjustable armrests. It also comes with several features you won’t find on most chairs. The armrests can also be moved laterally (front, back, left, right) and rotated slightly to maximize comfort. Two cushions can be adjusted up or down to support your lower back and neck, or they can be removed.

One of my favorite features is the fully reclinable back. With a pull of a lever, you can recline back in the chair so that the back and base of the seat are nearly flat. The first time I tried this, I felt like I was doing a trust-fall exercise and I was a little worried that I’d topple right over once my center of gravity tipped too far to the rear of the seat. Luckily, E-Win thought of this and mounted the seat closer to the rear, so that it still properly supports your weight when fully reclined. This also puts the front of the seat further out over the legs of the base, so I find myself placing my feet flat on the floor rather than on the legs. The only downfall of this is that it makes leaning the entire seat back quite a bit more difficult. All-in-all, I think this is a better design, but perhaps E-Win will improve on this in the future.

After using the Champion Series chair for a while, I’ve noticed my posture is much better when sitting in it compared to any other office chair I’ve used. Its design almost makes it uncomfortable to sit any other way than straight up, no leaning or slouching, and feet flat on the floor. This is partially due to the aforementioned placement of the seat on the base, but mostly due to how the chair curves around you. The chair holds you in place a little more like a car seat than a desk chair, only a little less squishy. If you try to lean to the side or sit sideways, the stiff sides of the seat make it uncomfortable forcing you to sit with better posture. I consider this to be a good feature, however, one must be careful when purchasing a chair like this since it must be sized properly. I’m a smaller guy, and if my shoulders were an inch or two wider, I’d probably feel cramped in it. E-Win’s web site has very detailed dimensions that should not be overlooked when choosing a chair.

Overall, E-Win’s Champion Series chair is comfortable from the start to finish of even the longest gaming sessions, and it is one of the sturdiest chairs I’ve sat in. The premium materials, top-notch build quality, and the inclusion of some unique features make it a competitor in the higher-end desk chair market at a more budget friendly price. These points paired with the more professional appearance of this particular design, make the Champion Series chair a pretty solid option for this middle-aged gamer.

You can currently find this chair on E-Win’s web site for $309 (normally $379), and if you use our coupon code “CoOp”, you will take an additional 10% off. The coupon code also works on other chairs as well as gaming accessories.

E-Win Champion Series Gaming Chair Review – Sitting Done Right

We’ve been using the E-Win Champion Series gaming chair for a week. Should you consider one of these for your office or home gaming set up?

Read our review to find out.

If you spend a lot of time in an office, then you probably spend a lot of time sitting on your butt. The same can be said for PC gamers and YouTube and Twitch streamers. A comfortable office chair is a must for those long hours of sitting on that butt, but your standard office chair can costs you a thousand dollars or more if you want a really nice one. When the EwinRacing team reached out to us and offered us one of their Champion Series gaming chairs, we were skeptical of how comfortable their chairs could be at such a low price point of US$289 (10% less if you use code TERMINAL at checkout).

Easy Assembly

The chair shipped fast and arrived in a pretty big box. Assembly instructions, hand tools, and even a pair of white gloves are included and made assembly a fairly quick and easy process. From start to finish it only took us around fifteen minutes for the full assembly of the gaming chair, and a few extra bolts and washers are included in case anything is missing. Below you will find our unboxing and assembly video of the gaming chair, and for the record parts of it are sped up by us. I really can’t move that fast.

Cushy Comfort

Once we planted our butt in the fully assembled chair, we were pleasantly surprised at how soft and comfortable the gaming chair was. The form fitting back almost felt like a wrap around racing seat in a sports car. The chair shipped with a lumbar support cushion and head rest cushion already in place. Personally, I suffer from long time back injuries and the lumbar support isn’t for me, but it only took a few seconds to undo the clasps holding that in place. If you are wanting to kick back and relax, maybe watch some of your favorite streams on YouTube, the head rest cushion is a nice touch.

Adjustments Galore

Once assembled, the chair has several adjustments to make it as comfortable as possible. You have your standard height adjustment thanks to the sturdy hydraulic piston under you, and for those longer legged folks, it goes fairly high. The arm rests are also adjustable. They can be raised and lowered, swiveled in and out, and even extended. We borrowed this image from the EwinRacing website to better explain the armrests.

Kickback and Relax

The vertical back of the chair has a huge range of motion, with the ability to lay it down almost flat. With 85-155 degrees of motion, you can find just about any angle you wish to watch those gaming streams or type out that report or blog. You could lay it back far enough if you need a nice afternoon nap, but don’t tell your boss I said that.

Comfort and Looks at an Affordable Price

We have used quite a few different office chairs over the years, and most weren’t cheap. Dropping $500 or $600 on a decent chair is usually the norm, and as much use as they get they are generally worth the investment. With the EwinRacing Champion Series gaming chairs, you get great quality and comfort at a much more affordable price.

Great job EwinRacing Team and thanks for this awesome chair!

E-WIN CHAMPION SERIES GAMING CHAIR REVIEW

E-WIN Champion Series Racing Chair

It wasn’t all that long ago that Steve took a look at one of E-Win’s Champion Series PC gaming chairs and now, I’m going back for a look at a slightly different version of the chair turned at least one of our team into a “chair snob”.

Originally an OEM furniture manufacturer, E-Win Racing has been around for a few years now. Since 2016 they’ve been wheeling chairs into our homes and offices that will certainly get you noticed. As Steve pointed out in his review of the all black Champion chair, E-Win’s prior experience is hardly limited to the gaming market, so they really ought to know a few things about keeping people comfy. Four series of chairs are already available to suit a variety of players. These include the Champion, Calling, Hero, and Flash Series.

The Champion line of chairs comes in at $289.00/€249.00/£221 with some mild variation based on design choice. My particular test sample currently retails for £249 on E-Win’s official site. This lands a substantial discount when compared to something like the Noble Epic. While this particular model might be part of the same line as Steve’s previous Champion series review, there are a few noticeable differences.

SPECIFICATION

  • SKU: Champion Series/CP-BOW3D
  • 4D Adjustable Poly Urethane Arm Rests
  • PU Leather
  • Height Adjustable
  • 120MM Class 4 Gas Lift – good up to 330lbs (150 kg)
  • Cold Molding Foam
  • Aluminum 5-star wheelbase
  • Steel chair frame
  • Tilt Lock and Tilt Control Mechanism
  • Lever Operated Back Recliner
  • 20.9in (53cm) wide by 22in (56cm) deep by 36.6in (93cm) high seating
  • Seating adjustable angle 85 degrees to 155 degrees
  • 360-degree swivel
  • Protective caster wheels
  • Neck and lumbar pillows

Getting this monster dumped on your front doorstep is a little intimidating for anybody who’s not had an opportunity to put together a gaming chair before. Thankfully, E-Win impressed right out the box. The Champion Series is packed with a fairly minimal amount of superfluous wrapping. Instead, you’ll find the chair is snugly fitted into the accompanying package, and extremely easy to extract. Anything smaller than the base is boxed away to prevent a side quest to find the correct screw head. Components are correctly parcelled into appropriate packages and E-Win even throw in a pair of rubber tipped gloves to make things a little easier to handle. The forethought E-Win put into the packaging speaks volumes about the way the Champion series is built and makes the assembly as painless as it could be, even for an IKEA-phobe.

After around 15 minutes you should find the E-Win series up and running. Putting the pieces of this chair together is, in my experience, simple enough and the result feels satisfyingly solid. A total of ten hex headed screws are all that is needed, alongside a little lifting, to put complete the Champion series build. The entire frame is intended to hold up to 150KG, so handles my paltry frame of around 60KG without any issue. Putting my own posterior down, this E-Win chair feels roomier than I’ve become accustomed to, even compared to other gaming chairs. The Champion series is not the largest chair on the market. It is not even the biggest seat in E-Win’s own range but it is still sufficiently generous to accommodate my 180cm frame easily. While other furniture sometimes falls a little short when it comes to my back and neck, the E-Win Champion series is tall enough that it always provides a level of functional support, especially when compared to more entry-level options.

The addition of a lumbar support and adjustable neck cushion to the E-Win Champion is another nice touch that elevates the series above my own personal comparisons and entry-level chairs. These cushions are fully adjustable, or removable if you need to readjust them. Cushions might sound like an unnecessary option but they are an addition that I didn’t even know I needed until I had them. The Champion series neck cushion is not the only adjustable area of this gaming chairs The 4D movement of the attached armrests allows gamers to elevate, slide, and rotate the armrests to a silly number of configurations. The rotation, in particular, of these attachments, allows them to do more than just go up and down or forward and back. It gives me real room to get the Champion Gaming chair where I actually want it, rather than settling for where it best fits among my desk clutter.

As if that wasn’t quite enough choice, E-Win has included a reclining feature to the Champion series that allows it to throw back anywhere from 85 to 155 degrees. That’s pretty much enough to sleep on if you so wish. From a functional standpoint, this gives the E-Win room to recline to your own preference and utilizing the reclining feature is as simple as pulling a lever located on the side of the chair. It’s simple and safe. All the moving component are guarded by chair’s side covers and the entire thing feels solid when you kick back. Let’s be clear though, 155 degrees is an extreme and nobody needs a chair that they can sleep on. However, I really could take a quick nap on this if I felt like it.

The E-Win Champion series gaming chair is an impressive piece of kit. The chair’s cold molded foam and multi cushion design create a wrap around that provide support from every direction. The quality of the material and stitching here feel as solid as the steel frame, while the configuration options are excellent. Construction was easy, while some impressive design and packaging features meant that I didn’t waste my day deciphering instructions. All in, and the color aside, E-Win continue to produce a line of chairs that impress for the price. While this might not come with the street cred of a Noble, you’re going to be indoors. If you want a quality gaming chair that will let you kick back in front of your rig then the E-Win Champion series is it.
