In It to E-Win it! A Single-Take Review of E-Win’s Latest Gaming Chair

IMG_0182.jpeg

A few weeks ago the great folks over at E-Win Racing reached out to us to see if we would be interested in checking out their super fancy gaming chairs. And of course our answer was, “HECK YES!” Soon a very large box was dropped off at my door. That box contained a Champion Series Ergonomic chair, and what you’re about to read is a look at my experience assembling it, and parking my keister in it for the past couple weeks!

Assembly

IMG_0172.jpeg

I’m including extensive photos in a slide show that will help you get an idea of how the chair shows up, the size of the box, and the steps it takes to assemble the chair. From the time I cut the box open, until I sat down in the chair was 36 minutes (and a few seconds). That includes the time I took to stop and take pictures, if I hadn’t the whole process would easily have been under 30 minutes, which is pretty fantastic. By my count there are a total of 8 bolts, and 2 screws that need to be manipulated in order to assemble the chair (PLUS they included extra parts in case you lose something). The seat back and the seat take four bolts that line up fairly easily, and then there are 2 plastic trim pieces that cover up where those bolts connect the two pieces, and the 2 screws hold those trim pieces in place. The remaining four bolts were already screwed into the bottom of the seat and are taken out and then screwed back in to attach the hydraulic assembly. Then it’s a matter of pushing in the five wheels into the steel base, and setting the whole thing down into place.

Features

This thing has all the bells and whistles! Just about every point of articulation you could want is here! The armrests articulate up/down, forward/backward, twist inward/outward, and slide laterally! If you can’t find a comfortable arrangement for them, you haven’t tried! The seat back also reclines to nearly fully reclined (range of motion is 85-155 degrees), and of course the entire seat tilts back as well (which is lockable). The Championship Series chair also comes with 2 pillows: a lumbar support pillow, and a neck support pillow.

The Verdict!

I’m going to take a few different viewpoints and share some thoughts, first as a tabletop gamer, and pc/console gamer, and lastly as an office/desk chair.

Tabletop Gaming—Personally, I don’t think tabletop gaming gives enough thought to the chairs we sit on. We’re perfectly fine plopping down at the table for a 2-3 hour D&D session, or a marathon game of Twilight Imperium, while sitting on a hard, wooden dining room chair, or slightly padded folding chair, while our legs go numb. There are a few manufacturers out there who are making strides, but we have a long way to go. That being said, this chair is great. I have two different tables I game at here at the homestead, and using a top-notch chair to sit at them makes a big difference. Being able to sit at an appropriate height, and keep the armrests unobtrusively at the ready is a whole new level of tabletop gaming. My back isn’t as achy from leaning over the table and being able to sit higher really helps with sight lines on the table. I’m a bit taller than average (6’3”) so the high back on the Championship Series adds support and comfort as well!

IMG_0168.jpeg

PC/Console Gaming—This is where the articulation of the armrests really comes into play. Being able to swivel, slide, and adjust them to my body shape, arm length, etc. really makes for a comfortable gaming experience. It’s like the chair isn’t there; my arms and hands don’t feel fatigue, and I feel like I play a bit more consistently because my hand position is more consistent and supported, which relaxes my hands, which cuts down on fatigue. This is obviously what this chair is primarily designed for, and it absolutely shines!

Office/Desk Chair—If you go to E-Win’s website, the listing for this chair includes the description “office chair,” so it is certainly considered a valid replacement for your current office chair. And let’s be honest, with the current lockdown situation there are a lot of us who are either a. not working, or b. working from home, and (like me) realizing how uncomfortable your home office chair actually is. I know I’ve spent more time in my office/studio space these past 3 months! Again this is where the Championship series really shows off. Typing with armrests that give support is a real game-changer and being able to adjust the recline angle of the chair has (and this is not hyperbole) changed my life. My last three office chairs were only able to recline as a whole unit, and it was impossible to find a comfortable angle to sit and work in for any length of time. This is a strong contender to replace your current office chair, believe me!

IMG_0179.jpeg

One last thing I’d like to talk about before giving my final verdict is the quality and aesthetics of the chair. E-Win touts a brand new PU Leather, and cold cured foam construction. It. Is. Sharp! It looks great, and the stitching, the construction, and all the touches are there—the chair just feels great! The hubless casters are quiet, and smooth (I’m mostly on carpet and I can move fairly well, especially compared to my former office chairs), and they look totally rad! I have noticed that it does overall sit a bit higher than I’m used to sitting in an office chair, but I’ve adjusted to it in the office and it works just fine. The locking mechanism is also pretty sweet. Not only will it lock so you stay upright, but you can lock the tilt mechanism at any point, that’s right, I can kick back, lock it into place and not have to fight to keep it at a comfortable angle, or tip forward unexpectedly. Seriously, this chair has it all!

IMG_0183.jpeg

Final Verdict

The E-Win Championship Series chair is terrific—let’s just get that out of the way. It is not a super cushy/overstuffed chair that will whisk you away on clouds. It’s a high-performance chair. When I sit down in it I know I’m about to get stuff done. Whether I’m going to whoop my kids at Madden, delve into a dungeon on the tabletop, or produce a new episode of Cryptic Podcast, things are happening when I hop in this seat! If you’re looking to make a seating upgrade, I highly recommend checking out E-Win and their Championship Series chairs.

The awesome folks at E-Win were kind enough to offer our readers 20% off, just head over to their site RIGHT HERE and use the code “THEOLOGY” at check out! We’re super grateful to them for taking care of our readers like that!

Stuck at Home Review: EwinRacing Champion Series Gaming Chair

Like many of you, I am stuck at home, riding out this damned COVID-19 pandemic. To pass the time, I noticed I’ve been spending a lot more time on my rump in the home office, whether it be writing things for Droid Life or extended sessions of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Given that I’ve been sitting more, I want to make sure I have a comfortable chair, so it was quite serendipitous that EwinRacing, a maker of PC gaming chairs, emailed me to see if I would be interested in checking out one of their chairs for review. I accepted because who doesn’t want to be comfortable. The chair arrived a few days later. I’ve now had it set up in my office for a few days and am ready to share a few thoughts.

Shall we?

Assembly

I’ve assembled a similar gaming chair before, but thankfully, assembling this EwinRacing gaming chair was nothing like that one. There are only a few pieces to put together, all of which are assembled with the use of one of two hex pins. You can view the entire assembly instruction list here (photo from Monitornerds), but I’d say it took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. Do note the red directional arrows on the instructions, though. I began reading left to right, top to bottom like you’d read a book and was very confused at first. Thankfully my fiancée caught me and corrected me that I need to follow the arrows. Bless her heart.

Once your chair is assembled, with all of its screws tightened, you’re ready to sit and relax.

Features

Can chairs have features? Well of course they can and the Champion Series is no different. This chair features a stain-resistant PU (polyurethane) leather over a  high-density foam cushion. According to the product’s listing, the foam is “engineered to be 2x heavier than regular foam per cubit foot, inching it near the realm of memory foam.” Obviously I’ll chat comfort in just a bit.

For adjusting the chair, there is a ridiculous amount of knobs, levers, and all that jazz. For specifics, there’s height adjustment, tilt adjustment, sideways and height adjustment for the armrests, and backrest adjustment. What I wasn’t sure of at first, but am now a major fan of, are the pillows the chair comes with. And since I’m talking about the pillows now, let’s get to the comfort section.

For a full look at “features,” check out the product listing here.

Mmm, new chair smell!

Comfort

This chair is comfy! The last gaming chair I tried, I hoped it might get softer or more comfy after I broke it in for a week or so, but that didn’t really happen. With the EwinRacing gaming chair, it was comfortable as soon as I sat in it the first time.

It is a lot different from the chair I am coming from, a high backrest IKEA office chair, but once I found out the level of tilt I liked, my body just sort of melts right into it. And this is where the pillows come in. My past chairs don’t have cute little pillows to support my lower back and neck, so the addition of these pillows has been a major bonus. If you don’t want the pillows, simply unclip them.

As someone with terrible sitting posture (I look more like a pretzel than a human when sitting), which has been confirmed by my primary care physician, acupuncturist, massage therapist and chiropractor, I honestly feel much more comfortable and less achey after extended periods of sitting. And with the pandemic and state-wide lockdown in full effect, I foresee a lot more sitting in my future.

Durability

I’ve only been using the chair for a few days, so I can’t give you much details in terms of durability, but I have faith that this chair can serve me for some time. The chair feels very durable and heavy, and according to the EwinRacing’s website, the chair can handle plenty of cleaning thanks to its PU leather and hub-less casters. The leather is detailed to “surpass industry performance standards for strength abrasion, hydrolysis, and UV stability,” so that seems good.

For now, it’s holding strong and maybe I’ll post an update to this review in six months or so.

Price

I don’t know how much anyone here spends on chairs, but for me, it’s never been more than $199. Anything higher than that seemed silly, but when I think more about it, if you want something that is high quality and comes with plenty of features, you might have to pay higher prices.

EwinRacing has a large selection of chairs that covers a wide range of prices, but for this Champion Series chair that I received, the price is currently $219. This is 42% off its list price of $379, but on top of that, there are different chairs in this particular series that range in color and size. Thinking objectively, even though I was gifted this chair in exchange for this review, I could easily see myself dropping a couple hundred dollars on this chair.

If you’re stuck at home like us, and you need a new chair for all of your work and/or gaming needs, feel free to check out the Champion Series by following the link below.

EwinRacing Gaming Chair Review

The time we spend behind a computer screen has increased so much throughout the years. Some of us get up from our computer desks at work and go straight back behind one when we get home. Whether it’s streaming our favorite video games, recording a podcast, or making content videos, we spend a lot of time sitting. Even those of us who just casually play video games, it’s all about being comfortable while we sit for extended periods of time. Well, we are here to tell you, EwinRacing Gaming Chairs are here to make you as comfortable as you can for all that sitting.

EwinRacing has been in the gaming chair scene since 2016, where they were an OEM leader in office chair manufacturing. They continue to strive for a professionalization in the gaming chair field while focusing on a strict quality inspection process. The chairs have a heavy metal-based frame, padded with memory foam, and then coated with high quality, stain-resistant PU-leather. That means, with a clean cloth, this chair can be cleaned repeatedly without surface damage. The craftsman truly stands out with each chair that can be easily seen from start to finish.

The EwinRacing Gaming Chair showed up in a pretty big box. We had help getting it in the door and in the room for the unboxing. Getting everything out of the box only took a few minutes and to our surprise, the neck and lumbar support cushions were already attached to the backrest. Typically these come separate when ordering from other companies, and we thought it was a nice touch that EwinRacing had already put the cushions on where they needed to go. After getting everything laid out, set up and building the chair was pretty easy. Overall it took us a tad over twenty minutes to build the chair with just one person.

The only real trouble we had was getting the backrest attached to the seat of the chair, which is the most common complaint when putting together any Gaming Chair. It took us a few minutes to get the bolts lined up into the backrest, but we feel with a second person it would have made this much easier, as we know from experience. The trouble was trying to balance the back of the chair to sit in the brackets of the chair. A bit of a hiccup, but not much of an issue. After getting the two parts together, the rest of the chair assembly was easy. The wheels snapped into the five-star base, and then the hydraulic system into that. The seat then sat down on that and before we knew it, we were done.

First impressions after we stepped back at the newly put together masterpiece were amazing. The chair that was right for us, more about that later, was the EwinRacing Hero series. The chair looked great and the pop of color really caught our eye. Just seeing the picture online doesn’t do it justice as it does in person. You can clearly see the handmade craftsmanship that goes into each chair.

As if it wasn’t love at first sight as it was, we were in for a real treat when finally sitting down and trying it out. It had a nice firmness to it, but not too hard where it was going to be uncomfortable after a long sitting period. We were quite impressed with how well it fit our body. The lumbar cushion was already paying dividends minutes in as we could tell we were already sitting with a better posture than our last chair. We didn’t understand how great the neck cushion would be, and after a slight adjustment, it was a pleasant surprise. We jumped right into our first streaming session with it and we could instantly tell how much better this chair was than our last sitting arrangement. We weren’t constantly trying to move around and find the comfy spot. Once we found the sweet spot with the lumbar and neck cushions, we were more focused on the game instead of how uncomfortable we were at the present time.

We can happily say after a week of consistent use, those first impressions have stuck with us. When we’d finish up a long gaming session in our other chair, our neck and back would be in a bit of pain. Sometimes we’d find our self ending our sessions early because we didn’t want to sit anymore. After using the EwinRacing Gaming Chair on those same long sessions, we felt the same as we did when we first sat down. The way the cushions position you for sitting can not be understated. We never understood how important posture was until we used this chair as much as we have over the last week. We love to stream and now that we are comfortable for longer, we can keep doing our passion for extended periods of time.

EwinRacing has five different series to choose from over on their website, https://ewinracing.com. They claim that one size doesn’t fit all, as each series has a list of height and weight requirements to find that perfect chair for yourself. From the lower-priced Knight series, to the top end priced Flash series, EwinRacing offers a wide variety for weight, height, and price. No matter your selection, the same care for quality and customer satisfaction goes into each series of chair. Each chair comes with a five-year warranty on defects found in the material or workmanship and a ten-year warranty on the steel frame of the chair.

Overall, we couldn’t be more happy with this chair. It has helped extend our gaming sessions and has made them so much more comfortable. Though we have only used the Hero series chair, we feel confident in suggesting any EwinRacing Gaming Chair to fit your needs. You actually feel you are getting great value as nothing looks or feels cheap and you can really see the handmade craftsmanship. So if you are tired of shortening your gaming sessions because you just can’t sit anymore, then EwinRacing Gaming Chairs are the perfect thing for the cure. You will not be disappointed.

Best gaming chairs 2019: T3’s best gaming chair picks, from PC gaming comfort to premium eSports rockers

These are the best gaming chairs on sale today, covering every budget – find the best gaming chair for you in 2019

T3’s best gaming chairs 2019 guide is here to help you navigate through all the different options out there, and reach your ultimate – the absolute best gaming chair for you, whether you’re a PC or a console gamer.

Of course we love gaming here at T3.com, which is why we know what we’re talking about when it comes to the best gaming chairs available in 2019. What follows is our expertly curated list of the best gaming chairs going, plus some useful advice to help you find the right one for whatever setup you’ve got at home.

Even with the new year sales season out of the way, it’s still a great time to pick up a premium gaming chair – you’ll find most of the top gaming chair makers discounting their ranges to delivering some very attractive gaming chair deals.

But just going online and splurging big bucks on the first gaming chair you see with “deal” written next to it is certainly not how you should go about picking the best gaming chair for you – do your research properly to avoid landing a product that looks good to begin with, but soon starts showing some flaws.

The truth is that picking a great gaming chair is hugely important if you’re a gamer: if you’ve invested a lot of money into your gaming setup with top titles, the best hardware and a dedicated area of your home or office to house it all in, you don’t want to compromise the whole setup by overlooking the importance of a specially-designed gaming chair.

If you don’t have the best gaming chair to go with your other hardware then chances are you will not be able to hit those high scores (or enemy targets). At the top level, marginal gains can make the difference between winning and losing, so investing in a gaming chair that aids you really is a no-brainer if you’re serious about gaming performance and comfort.

BEST GAMING CHAIRS 2019: WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

The main things to look out for when you’re buying a gaming chair are the differing levels of comfort and support included. Most come with the ability to make adjustments to height, but also look for adjustments to the armrests and the way the chair reclines too, as well as detachable cushions – which enable you to quickly change how your chair feels and how your body feels in it.

You should also determine what discipline or gaming genre the chair might have been tailored for. For example, some of the best gaming chairs on the market have been designed with racing or flight simulations in mind, while others for first person shooters, and the small differences in setup can often have a big impact on gaming performance. If you just need an all-round top gaming chair then don’t worry, though, as there are plenty of those, too.

WHAT’S THE BEST GAMING CHAIR?

There are many different gaming chairs tailored towards PC gaming, as well as playing games on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, with size, build material (such as leather), and feature sets differing.

The best gaming chair is therefore, first and foremost, the one that is most suited to your particular gaming setup and intended usage scenarios. Certain gaming chairs, for example, are built for use in simulation games such as racers and flight sims, while others specialise in supporting gamers in MOBA or FPS titles.

Naturally, you should also consider the look and style you’re going for when choosing one the best gaming chairs on the market in 2019.

Fortunately, most gaming chairs are suitably stylish and tend to resemble leather-clad racing car seats, but you’ll obviously want to pick a style that goes the best with your gaming room decor, as well as a colour that won’t annoy you or your partner hours into a gaming marathon.

With a mixture of tastes and usage scenarios catered for, from luxurious and leather-clad, to super-soft and stylish, these are the best gaming chairs available in 2019.

BEST GAMING CHAIRS 2019: WHO ARE THE BEST GAMING CHAIR MAKERS?

It’s also absolutely crucial when buying a gaming chair that you pick one up from a premium, respected maker that has proper heritage, as many new brands have suddenly started to flood into the market.

Some slick marketing and a deluge of copycat designs later, and the waters are now well and truly muddied. That makes it very hard for the uninitiated to tell if a gaming chair has the build quality to go the distance, or is a six-months-later-and-the-stitching-is-coming-loose dud.

The makers that follow here are approved by T3 to be gaming chair producers of the highest quality: Nitro Concepts, Secretlab, GT Omega Racing, EWIN, Noblechairs, X Rocker, DXRacer, Vertagear, Corsair, and Songmics.

When you’re shopping for the best gaming chair of 2019, you want to know it’s going to be a pleasure to sit in, and the Flash XL ticks all the boxes.

EWin Racing Gaming Chair Review (Calling Series)

Looking for a new gaming chair? This is our review of the EWin Calling Series!

 PROS:

  • Completely adjustable and very comfortable
  • Promotes good posture, which helps with blood circulation
  • Variety of uses, including office chair, gaming chair, etc.
  • Comes in a variety of colors

 CONS:

  • Expensive relative to standard swivel chairs
  • Too tall for those 5’0” and under

 VERDICT:

If you spend a lot of time in sitting, we think that this is a good chair for you. Whether you work long hours, are trying to improve your posture and overall health, or you stay up all night playing World of Warcraft, this chair is going to change your life. We love how adjustable it is, which helps it to be much more comfortable overall, for anyone. We realize that it has a hefty price tag, but we think it’s worth it if you sit a lot.

EWIN GAMING CHAIR REVIEW

If you have a desk job, chances are you have an office chair. Most Americans work an eight-hour work day, which means you could be spending up to eight hours a day in that chair. Quick question—are you comfortable in this chair? Are you sitting properly with good posture? Turns out, most people aren’t, but you can fix this pretty much instantly.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

In this review we discuss the EWin Racing Calling Series Gaming Chair that the company sent us to check out.

PRICE OF THE EWIN CALLING SERIES CHAIR

Don’t get us wrong, we realize you might have some sticker shock when you see the price of this chair. It’s $359 before any sales, but as of this post, it’s currently on sale for $259.

Before you write this chair off completely because of the price, remember the health and comfort benefits that it offers. Maintaining proper posture while you sit can improve circulation, improve breathing efficiency, and overall oxygen supply to the brain, heart, and other vital organs.

Think of it like the organic vegtables at the grocery store: they’re expensive, but probably better for you in the long run.

And to be honest, for gaming chairs, it’s not actually egregiously priced. They also make plenty of other gaming chairs.

DESIGN & SPECS

Basically, EWin created this chair to give the user complete control over customizing it, so that they can reach maximum comfort.

The base of the chair is a steel metal frame, with a dense memory foam molding on top. The chair doesn’t really feel like memory foam to us though, it just feels like dense foam because it has fast responsiveness.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The chair is then supported on a nylon five star base that rolls around on wheels, and has support pillows for the neck and lower back that are attached by elastic straps. The pillows can also be removed if you wish.

This chair can support up to 330 lb.

Now let’s get into all these customizable features we keep promising you. First, the armrests can be lifted and lowered. This is important to make sure that you’re not scrunching your shoulders up to use the arm rest.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The overall chair is also adjustable, letting you adjust to where you can comfortably lay both feet on the ground. We found that most of the guys in the office could accomplish this, but Kaite Kale who is five-foot-nothing couldn’t make the chair short enough to be comfortable, so we don’t recommend this chair for those who are 5’ tall or under.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

The back is lever operated between 85 degrees to 115 degrees. If you want to be awake and alert, set this chair all the way upright, and if you want to take a nap, lay it all the way down. We think gamers will really like this ability to recline to their comfort. On top of that, you can lock the seat of the chair with the “tilt lock” so you can tilt both the back of the chair and the seat of the chair back together.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

Besides all that, you can further customize this chair with your favorite color. It’s available in accent colors of black, grey, red, orange, yellow, lime green, blue, brown, light pink, and white.

USING THE EWIN RACING GAMING CHAIR

This is definitely an office favorite around RIZKNOWS. In fact, we might have to make a rotation chart in the office among the guys because they keep fighting over who gets to use it. It’s incredibly comfortable and even though we have all different sizes of people in the office, it can fit each and every one (besides Kaite) because it is so adjustable in so many ways.

ewin gaming chair review calling series from ewin racing

We think it’s definitely a luxury expense, but if you’re someone who sits for the majority of the day during work or play, we suggest this chair to you.

Review: Just in Time for E3 – E-Win Gaming Chair!

It’s the most exciting time of year for gamers as E3 is in full swing. New game announcements, surprises, trailers, and more are taking the internet by storm.

But to get ready for all these excellent new games coming out you might be needing a new gaming chair and Ewin Racing has some great models for you to marathon game in.

Previously, we reviewed another gaming chair from OPSEAT and in many ways the E-win chair we received is very similar.  The designs are a lot alike, the components and set up are all similar. But, to be honest, E-win has a slight edge. It’s more comfortable.

The Championship series chair we have is fully adjustable in nearly any way you can think of. It’s got a steal frame, adjustable height, reclining back, and an uber comfie cold molded high density memory foam chair. I think that’s the key to the comfort. I didn’t even realize it but I had been sitting in it for more than a few hours.

The chair have is orange which I was not so sure about as I’m not the biggest fan of that color but honestly? It looks great. Besides that, there are several different colors to choose from so you’re likely to find whatever suits your fancy.

I really love the chair and definitely recommend checking these offerings out if you are in the market for a new gaming chair. It’s really comfortable, looks great, and is perfect for long term gaming sessions.

Right now for E3, EWIN is running a 20% off special using code E3. Alternatively just click the banner at the upper right and use code PCB for 10% off if the E3 offer has ended.

I really love this chair and have been using it constantly. At the end of the day it’s going to boil down to your preferences, price, design, etc. Go with what you like but to be honest, I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the E-Win Racing Gaming Chairs.

Ewin Gaming Chair Review: Seats Taken

Ergonomic office equipment and gaming share a lot of things in common. Unless you’re playing something that demands you stand up and flail your arms about, most of the time you are going to be sitting stationary for long periods of time. And, much like sitting in an office all day, the one thing you want to make sure is that your body doesn’t pay the price for it.

I’ve grown accustomed to sitting down for most of the day. At one point in my life, I was a territory sales rep for a company. This also meant sitting in my car for hours at a time, only to do more sitting once I got home. After that, I was at a more traditional desk job but was free to move about whenever I needed to. Then, it was like going from 0-90 when I hit the gym to train for powerlifting meets. I say this because all of these have contributed to my chronic lower back injuries and pain.

The company Ewin had reached out to me a few weeks ago and expressed interest in having me do a review for their Hero Series gaming chair. Up until that point, the only chairs for gaming I knew were one of those rockers you can get from Target, a $200 office chair, and an L-shape sectional couch. I wondered, could this chair really provide a more ergonomic option for lengthy gaming sessions? Honestly, I was fearful that it would contribute more to the lower back pain that I had continued to experience.

The setup process

The entire setup process took somewhere around forty-five minutes to an hour. The instructions that come with the chair that I received are a general pamphlet. So, not everything aligned exactly as described in the booklet. This led to a few frustrating moments mostly due to differing chair brackets and cloth covering a few screw holes below the armrest.

The biggest difference between the Ewin chair and most other office chairs that I’ve pieced together (I actually did one from Costco just a few months ago) was that most of the mechanical parts were already assembled. Really, it was only placing the brackets that hold the back to the seat, and then applying the base portion with the hydraulic tube that allows the chair to raise and lower.

Material Quality

I will say that the choice in material from Ewin delivers an overall sense of sturdiness. The base of the chair utilizes a five-star design, much like other office chairs. However, the aluminum bars extending from the center are much broader than most that I’ve used.

The chair itself has a steel frame that’s wrapped in cold-molded memory foam. The method for creating this foam (thanks, internet) is essentially to provide a more durable and sturdy lifespan. The lower lumbar and head cushions are wrapped in the same foam, with the whole chair itself covered in polyurethane leather (PU leather).

Design

When I responded to the inquiry regarding a possible review unit, the one thing I didn’t even consider was the chair’s height. Most of the time, when I use an office chair, I ower it as much as possible. It usually fits under my desk and accommodates my wee, little legs. The Ewin Hero chair does stand a bit taller than most, sitting at 53.6″ at its lowest. This was only a minor setback considering the armrests swivel outward, inward, and slide back-and-forth. A button can also lower them, allowing my chair to slide under my desk further.

On the right side of the chair, there are two levers to tilt the chair back and adjust the height. A circular tensioner near the center hydraulic can limit or tighten the chair’s tilt.

Comfort is suggestive

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s a mushy mattress. I have to have two flattened pillows, a comforter half-draped over one leg, and a mattress that you can jump on and possibly injure yourself because of its firmness. I say this because, for most people, this doesn’t sound like a place they want to count sheep. But for me, it’s the bed of my dreams, quite literally.

The first thing that I did notice about the Ewin gaming chair was its general firmness. The memory foam, for me anyway, is better than something you would plop down in at any corporate office. I’ve removed, adjusted, and fit the back cushions to fit what I find comfortable. And for the most part, my back has thanked me for it.

I guess what I’m getting at here is there are ways to find a comfortable setting in the chair to fit your needs. It just so happens that moving the backrest to about 105 degrees, tilting the armrests pointed inwards, and relaxing the tension made it a chair well-suited for lengthy hours gaming. This includes using it with the Nintendo Switch undocked, allowing me to play with my arms rested. I also spent a number of hours holding a Switch controller like this, not to mention playing on PC with mouse and keyboard.

Usually, when I get up from sitting down these long periods, my body will attempt to adjust in order to stand upright. However, there was a huge difference between any chair I’ve used and the gaming chairs. The habits I had before, like tucking my right or left leg under me, aren’t accessible given the chair’s design. That may have played a role in it, along with the new cushion, back, and arm features I now have access to.

The one thing that I can suggest to anyone who is going to be making an investment: do your research.

Look up models and compare brands. Find out what features and materials are used. In this case, it was a lucky surprise that worked out great.

The Ewin Calling Series Gaming Chair is as sleek as they come

null

One of the most confusing parts of buying a gaming chair is sifting through all the different technical specifications, types, colors, and intricacies that makeup the market. There are so many options to choose from and they can all blend together and make the variety feel intimidating.

It’s important to choose the right chair, almost as important as the hardware choices when you build a new PC or the customizations you have for your character in Skyrim. This gaming chair will be a second home and you should be certain this one can support your body and play style.

A great option to go with in many cases is the Ewin Racing chair, we’ve been testing the EWin Calling Series Ergonomic Computer Gaming Office Chair and it’s as sleek as they come.

From stylish and comfortable curves that fit to your side to sturdy and reliable armrests that have wide bases for relaxation, the Calling series is a step up from many other chairs including some of Ewin’s other products.

Feel & Fit

The Calling Series, specifically the CLE sku, reigns in some of the features found in the Flash series. It has the same 3D armrests that can adjust up-down, left-right, and forward-back but the movements are far smoother when finding the right place for your elbows. It’s base also also a smoother transition from the edges of the seat to where you sit. The simpler take on the Flash series features actually make the Calling series chair a bit more reliable in terms of subtle adjustments and overall comfort.

It ca depend on what you prefer, but the simple armrests on the Calling series were a welcome change for us after spending several weeks with the flash series. They are stable, firm, and a bit more stylish since they don’t have multiple buttons and switches on several sides. They slide up and down smoothly and have a good range for different heights and postures, and the horizontal movements are done by a simple push.

The Calling Series is similar to the Flash series in many ways The pillows, backrest, height, and backrest angles all feel familiar. They can both sustain a good amount of pressure on the back, just be careful about sudden and heavy movements to one side. The combination wheels and weight of the chair can lead to a fall, although it’s a small concern.

The backrest is straighter, firmer, and more collaborative with the two pillows on the CLE sku as well. It feels like it was meant to work in tandem with the pillows rather than be two different options for use, one with pillows and one without. It made sitting up straight easier and more comfortable.

The biggest test for us is whether or not we can sit back in an odd an exhaustion-caused posture after a long days work and still be comfortable. The result from that test were nothing but positive, even if we try to have the best posture we can most days.

Style & Satisfaction

Most chairs sport that same look with a tall back base, two holes in the backrest for air, two pillows for lower and upper back support, and then a wide base with wings on each side that support leaning to one side or the other. It’s also common for chairs to be two dominant colors, usually something cheery like blue, red, or green alongside a black or white outline.

The Calling Series has most of this with a beautiful splash of white in a few spots on the chair, it makes it stand out among the common two tone nature of other chairs. That flair combined with the usual race car like design of the chair makes it a great addition to any man cave, office, or game room.

We even did a lot of work while setup in our smooth seats our only piece of advice would be to make sure the chair that you get matches your height and weight measurements since armrests on a chair one size to big might hit the edges of your desk instead of slide under them and your feet may be stunted if the chair is too small.

Luckily that’s not an issue since Ewin has multiple options on their site about the size of your chair and we didn’t run into that issue when using the chairs designed to our specific requirements.

We with played various genres and platforms to see how the chair performed in different environments It was easy to cuddle up on the chair and dive into a long session of Octopath Traveler and comfortable enough to spend 30 minutes looting in Fortnite only to be killed by a sniper we didn’t even see (we were comfy enough to just jump back in to try for redemption).

All of those playthroughs were fun and relaxing, better than any couch, bean bag chair, futon, and most other gaming chairs we’ve played with. If you’re looking for a trustworthy options don’t hesitate to go with the Ewin Calling Series of gaming chairs.
